So I'm 5'4" and my H2B is 6'3" I have been searching for shoes for months now! I don't like closed in toes, I hardly ever wear stilettos, wedges would look ridiculous with my dress! How do I get comfortable very high shoes that are also pretty? How has everyone else got on with their shoes on the day? I am either going to be in mortal agony or look like a complete shortie!

I am in the same position I am 5'3" and h2b is 6'4" I am getting 2 pairs of shoes what I think I'm going to get is platforms with heels for the ceremony/photos and first dance and in between that I'll have a smaller heel/flats.

I don't want to look back at the picture and notice how small I am in comparison to oh I know even with heels I won't be the same size as him but a 4 inch heel makes me feel so much better I wouldn't be able to walk on them all day hence why I'm getting a smaller heel or flats in between times.

Have you found a pair you have fallen in love with yet? Everything else like my dress, tiara etc is quite blingy, not sure wether to continue the bling or go plain!

I have found a pair I don't love them but I like them a lot. I'm the same my dress/tiara is blingy. The shoes I've seen are blingy but my sister put my off them saying you can't wear them the aren't very weddingy. I'm going to wait until dec/jan and go try on more shoes but chances are they will be blingy.

What I like about them is they are platforms so the heel isn't as hard to walk on, and gives me enough height, I need to try them on again. They are £70 though so I'm hoping to get them a bit cheaper.

The height difference is why makes you a couple though, if you were to wear four inch heels, you would look back in the pics and think we'll that's not us really. I'd say go for a nice medium heel, the chunkier the heel the more comfortable they are likely to be unless you are used to wearing a stiletto.

I've just put a search on for blinged wedges and loads came up. I'm the same I always were heels when out with Alan. The height difference has always annoyed me he's like a giant. I just can't wear heels for 10+ hours.

I am a girl who normally only wears heels on nights out and most of time those are off before end of night! I always thought I would wear heels in day then flats in night but this was me forgetting that obviously the dress would remain same length to the floor lol
I am thinking now maybe heels but with a slightly thicker heel but not too chunky, I have seen this somewhere but forgotten where!

I just went for comfort and opted for flats. I figured I'd rather have shoes I felt comfortable and confident in. I'm 5'2", but my husband isn't that much taller.

    Those shoes are beautiful.
I decided to go for comfort over height. I still had a heel but only 3 inches with a platform sole. They were gorgeous and comfy.

I've thought this over and over and decided that I'm gonna wear flat shoes...I'm 5'2 and my h2b is 5'8 so there not much of a height difference...and I hate wearing heels...never found a comfy pair so I don't wear heels and I'm not gonna start on my wedding day...plus knowing my luck I'd go A over T...

I think that on your wedding day you must be comfortable, would be horrible if you were in agony on your wedding day, plus, unless you're wearing an above the ankle dress or deliberately show them off no one really sees them.

I wore mine for the ceremony then changed to my converse after so I could dance. I made sure everyone saw those as well. I thought my shoes would be killing my feet, but honestly I felt so comfy in the, when I changed.

I don't think height and comfort have to be mutually exclusive; I usually wear heels when I go out (anything from 3.5/4 inches without a platform to 5 inches with a small one) and I'm always fine (though I do only buy certain makes which aren't dirt cheap, admittedly). I also agree that wedges are often pretty comfy as your weight is distributed more evenly across the whole sole. And you can get some pretty wedges as Glitter Fairy has demonstrated :-)

Ultimately though I think comfort is key, and you need to feel confident in them, too. I ended up with 2.5 inch high peep-toes for the day, changing into 3.5inch strappy sandals for most of the evening (6.30-12ish) then back into my lower heels (also changed into a different, lighter dress) at about midnight. IMO it's not a bad idea to have options; I was on my feet nearly constantly from 12-3.30,and then again from 6.30-2.30: if my shoes were uncomfortable it would have been awful!

I've bought an ivory pair to wear under my dress for the ceremoney and photos/sit down meal but then Ive bought a pair of converse which I'm going to have custom blinged for the evening do so i can dance the night away - otherwise I'll end up taking them off and being bare foot lmao!! xx

I bought irregular choice shoes. They had height but they were wider fitting so they were really comfortable all day and night ... Especially as if you're dress needs taking up and you're wearing heels it isn't always practical to swap to flats at night as the dress will then drag on the floor and under the shoes x

I am quite the opposite to you ladies. I am 5'4 and h2b is 6ft, I live in sky scraper heels but want the height difference to be obvious, so thinking of down sizing from the usual 6 inch heels to around a 3. I will have to do some trying on I guess, because my confidence and posture is far better in big shoes!!
