    Hi everyone!!

Just wanted to get everyones opinion on a second hand dress for the big day? The dress i have fell in love with is in excess of £1000 but their are second hand ones available on various internet sites for £500-£700. We are trying to stick to the budget we have set like everyone else - i know my mil to be would have something to say about it but thats a whole other story!!

So yes, opinions on second hand dresses would be very much appreciated please.

I bought my dress from the bay. It was a brand new sample dress, that had a few of the pearls loose. It's a charlotte balbier and retailed at £1300, I bought it for £202. If you know what you want, go for it. It can save you sooo much money, just don't tell the mil ;) xx

I got my dress second hand from the bay for £100 (worth £1200). It needs a slight alteration but there's not a mark on it and you defo can't tell it's 2nd hand xx

If you love it, there is absolutely no reason not to buy it!

As was said above, you don't have to tell the MIL! You shouldn't feel the need to impress people with the price tag, there's nothing wrong with a bargain!!

I got mine second hand from ebay (sample dress) it was worth £3,500 I got it for £300. Not damaged, fits nearly perfect I couldn't be happier. I'm not telling anyone apart from my mum (she bought the dress) and my FMIL (she also loves the dress).
I would recommend, just think about storage as you have your dress for longer than if you were to buy it from a shop.

I think it's a great idea. Although in a dream world we would all like to be the first person to wear an expensive dress in reality not many of us can afford to. I'm paying for my whole wedding myself and have a very tight budget to keep to.

I wish i could have got mine second hand at a great price. If i had had theo choice i would have bit it was a new design so no chance of that. I will be selling it thou n hope a bride will buy it and love it on her big day just like i will. No point in spending mobey if you can get away with it. U dont ever have to tell anyone it is second hand either x

the dress i wore for my uk ceremony was a "last season" dress my theory is if you add up all the times it had prob been tried on it would have almost been aslong as someone wearing it for a few hours ... but instead of paying £1500 i got it for £230

This is my second hand dress:

    Dress_Back

It's a Maggie. Owner wanted rid quick due to moving.

    £50.

Wedding dresses have been wore once. Barely passes as second hand lol, it's not like a second hand sofa, or a pair of jeans. And who cares what other people think! It's your day. I saved loads of moneys, that i've used elsewhere. Just keep looking around, mine was from BookFace, one of the Wedding Sale pages for my area.

So many things, from organza bags they had spare, fishbowls, table pieces, ect.

    You'll save hundreds!

Good Luck in finding your dress.
