Wedding Forum - Save the date and hen night...

I planned my own hen, we booked a few months ago and the hen will be at the end of April, so we booked it quite far in advance.

I would send your save the dates out now, with invitations 5-6 months in advance. I would just send them to day guests as you don't want your evening guests to presume they are invited to the whole day. If you want to send something to the evening guests how about sending "save the evenings"?

The only thing I'm asking my bridesmaids to do is organise my hen. Purely because I have no idea what I really truly want .. I don't have a chief bridesmaid so they're all mucking in as well as my mum.

God knows what I'm going to get .. I have my 16 year old sister who regularly has major house parties at my mums and you come home and the place is trashed and we're into t0ugh mudd3r and t0tal wArr10r and things but I think I'm coming to the hard reality they're all off the cards for me next year because of the crash.

Then my mum who says she's only going out a few hours to town then rolls in at 4 am in the morning but knows that Im really into my spas and things.

Then my oldest bridesmaid that I worked with who thinks I'm some sort of maniac and lives 20 mins away so we have nights out every now and again and she gets me in some absolute sorry States

Then my friend who I've been friends with since primary school and used to live round the corner from us for 7 years who house and puppy sits for me every now and then .. Who also can go wild but is having some problems at the moment so will probably be routing for a more laid back hen.

We're having too though; one big one with lots of friends and the netball team which is likely to be an absolute alcohol mission I'm feeling sick at the thought of it!! And then I'm praying to have a sunny bridal party hen a few weeks before the wedding somewhere hot and gorgeous to get a lovely tan .. Only problem is we'll have to go in school holidays and I'm nervous asking my boss for another week off a few weeks before having 3 weeks off for my honeymoon!

My bridal party is keeping the hen all shush shush too .. Which I don't know whether to be excited or scared for my life!
