I need your help... I have 4 months to get into my gorgeous dress. I was doing really well with the weight loss at the start but now ive hit a dead end!
I have problems with my stomach so my diet is very limited at the moment and im on some serious medication so its causing me a few problems.
I was on a healthy eating regime, lots of fresh fruit, veg and salad, fish, chicken, small amounts of carbs etc.. no alcohol, chocolate or sweets. Until I went to my GP who told me to not eat so much raw veg, salad, fruit etc as its causing more problems with my stomach, so i cant eat those or anything with high fibre...
I dont like milkshakes so cant do the slim fast etc.... I go to the gym twice a week for cardio workout, and I go swimming 2 evenings a week and just swim lengths.
I have to lose a lot of weight as you will see from the picture so i need any advice i can get!
I hope you ladies can offer me some wonderful suggestions.. Oh and I have a vibration plate too which i use before excercise but it doesnt seem to be working for me.
Thanks for reading ladies.. Im just so desperate to fit into my gorgeous dress and im seriously hitting a wall. xxxx

when hungry drink water first normally your just thirsty - Sorry its not much help
CommentAuthorFaeth
Loads of water. Enough calories to fuel your activities but no more. Eat your smallest meal in the evening, preferably with little or no carbs in - save those for breakfast and lunch. Eat complex carbs that take longer to process so you don't get spikes of fast release energy then low points where you're hungry too early, so rice and pasta should be brown, as should bread - wholemeal is good.
Veg is great, but fruit and salad can cause stomach problems if you're like me (I can't eat either without becoming a wind generation machine! LOL) - also fruit sugar is still sugar ;p

i agree drink as much water as you can, make sure you dont miss breakfast, do you drive? if you do instead of driving where you normally do, try walking it, or if its too far get the bus but get off a few stops early x

You can still pile plate high with veg cant you? Have a look on the slimming world thread there is some gorgeous recipes on there. Also maybe as well as cardio you could try to fit in 30 minutes light weight training. That will help break down fat and build lean muscle, which while muscle is heavier than fat so the scales wont tell you your loosing anything, muscle also burns more calories while also at rest and tones up which takes inches off you.

use a smaller plate, that way no matter what u eat it looks like u av a big plate full but because its smaller ur eating less calories.also the water trick works av a pint of cold water 20 mins before u eat it fills u up quicker.and never eat till ur full always finish before u get to that point cos it takes ur body 20 mins to realise ur full and then uv over eaten and get that bloated feeling so always finish not totally satisfied.good luck.xx

take kelp tablets... speeds up metabolism ... full of iodine and iodine helps... or eat loads of seaweed basically what kelp tablets are lol
smaller plate... dont mix carbs with protein....can lead to bloatin
train with weights its true that you burnmore calories when u have lean muscles...
skipping with a skipping rope (speed skipping) is fab for weight loss boxers and body builders do it when loosing fat for comps...

Hey ladies, thank you for all your wonderful advice.. I will certainly try taking kelp... i drink water anyway but i will make a conscious effort to drink more..
As for the food aspect, Im waiting for a call from a specialist nurse. I was at the hospital and was diagnosed with having crohns disease AND ulcerative colitis, the doctor advised anything high fibre will cause problems so the specialist nurse is going to go through food with me so i know what i can and cant eat.
I will let you all know how i get on.
Thank you again ladies! Your advice means a lot to me! xx

eat a balanced healthy meal. dont eat too few calories as it will set your body into starvation mode and it will cause your body to hold onto every single calorie that goes into your mouth! go onto a webiste for a calorie controlled diet it gives you the exact amount you need for each day depending on how many lbs a week you want to loose as well as your height and current weight. (myfitnesspal) best bit is that it is free! other than that up your weekly exercise!! good lck hun you CAN do it! if you think negative thoughts it will reflect in your weight loss! also drink ice cold water as it helps burn a few more calries. erhhh drink water during a meal as well so you arent filling up just on food. dont forget some fats are good for you and are essential for a health diet and weight loss. i know you want to lose the weight for your wedding and i support you 100% but please please do it the right way xxxx

Thanks hun....
I feel great tonight, I wasnt feeling too well and nearly didnt go swimming but i went anyway and swam 20 lengths non stop... i swam at least 35+ lengths and went in the sauna a couple of times too. I really pushed myself tonight and feel great for it... Ive been really careful with my food intake today and considering i was really stressed about my appointment this morning at th hospital but the swimming really de-stressed me!
I feel really positive now, thanks for all your help!

How about soup? Means you can still eat plenty of veg and keep it fresh and healthy? I make different types of veg soup all the time to bring in for work - just had a chinese broth one today, so easy and simple - it's just 1.5 pints of veg stock, a teaspoon of chinese 5 spice and then a couple of handfuls of stir-fry veg - so tasty, so quick to make and so healthy!
I hope you find something that works for you hun xx

I love couscous as well, much prefer doing my own to shop bought flavoured ones, i find a lot of them over do the flavour. I make up batches of it, and have it in my fridge as a ready to eat snack when i am peckish, saves me grabbing other convenience foods. I make up the couscous with italian herb stock, then add a couple of drops of lemon juice, chopped onion, mushroom, tomato and green pepper, its yummy, also works as a good side to chicken etc when everyone else in my household wants chips lol. Im the same with having things like cucumber sticks, carrot sticks, peas etc.... just ready and available to stop me reaching for buscuits, crisps and sausage rolls when am hungry.

Hi there, I can relate although have 18 months so not in a panic yet. I too have stomach problems and am a vegetarian. Try and eat raw veg during the times that you want to snack. I went onto a weight resource site that told me how many calories I needed to eat to stay the same weight, it takes into account your age, weight and activity levels. You then deduct a certain amount per day in order to lose weight in a certain time span. If you are interested message me and I'll tell you what it is as the rules don't allow me to put it here. I do yoga, tai chi and walk, this helps me keep fairly well toned, improving all the time. Good luck and if you want all the details let me know! If you're not too techie (although you're on a forum so I expect you're just fine) I can take your details and do it for you :) x

i used acai berry supplements from h&B and used with colon cleanse they were pretty good but you needed to be eating properly for them to have any effect. they basically speed up your metabolism so burning of food faster. defo worth a try x
