Hi everyone ... i've made my prototype for the invites today - pocketfold with address written on the back of the actual invite tied together with personalised ribbon - question is, can i actually post these with ribbon on the outside? i've done a google search and cant find anything? I dont want to make them all up then find i cant post ribbon. Also i had a few weeks away from here and now i cant see/find the power user prize thread, It's due tomorrow so i thought it may have been bumped by now.

I am sure you can yes but it may up the cost of the stamp as width is considered when posting letters/parcels now.

I would pop to a post office to ask ....the things is the ribbon could get could as the item goes through the sorting machines
H2b is a postie and they go through the sorting machines fine. It just adds to the cost as its based on width as to which size your letter would come into.
It is def worth taking your invite when completed to the Post Office to be weighed so you know what stamp/s you need otherwise if its not the right amount the person you are sending the invite to will have to go to the Sorting Office to collect it and pay the rest of the postage+admin fee.

yeah i thought that about the sorting machine, so the other option is one of those "seal" type stickers. Not sure one of those would hold it shut. Ill call in and ask tomorrow. Oh - light bulb moment, ill just buy bigger envelopes and put the whole lot in. wow, my brains not working. Can Mods delete this thread please seen as its a bit pointless now haha. Sorry xx
Thanks Mrs T, ill take my prototype to the office tomorrow and get it weighed/measured :)

No problem, the only things that tend to slow the sorting machines down are staples and paperclips.
