still looking at music and have sort of agreed on songs however just listened to one in full and one of the lines is 'for gods sake dear' Just say yes.

do you think this will be allowed? Im thinking no but oh doesnt see why ot as its not in a religious content?

What song is it? When would it be played? Would you play the whole song, because if that line is towards the end, then it could be faded out before it is heard.

I think MidgetGem is right - just ask. There's no point looking for another song if the vicar hasn't said no yet x

Is this Snow Patrol? If so, I've seen lots of people say they've had this song during their civil wedding ceremony (seems it's a particular favourite for during the signing).

The Marriages (Approved Premises) Regulations Act states that “Any civil marriage conducted on these premises shall contain no
religious service. For these purposes a religious service means a ceremony containing recognised religious rites, rituals or singing of
hymns. A civil marriage ceremony conducted on these premises should not:

    i) include extracts from an authorised religious marriage service
ii) be led by a minister of religion or other religious leader
iii) involve a religious ritual or series of rituals
iv) include singing of hymns or other religious chants (maintains
    existing restriction)
    v) include any form of worship

    but it may include:

vi) readings, songs or music that contain an incidental reference to a
god or deity in an essentially non-religious context

As the reference to 'for God's sake' in this song (if it is Snow Patrol, like I think) is a non-religious reference to feelings of frustration, rather than an actual reference to God, you should be absolutely fine :)

It's in a different context, surely they are not that strict?
