Does anyone know roughly how much the registrar fee's are? I know it will vary in different areas but just need an idea coz its the only grey area in my budget at the moment. Does it cost more to have them come to your venue?

Mine is £425! I had no idea it was that expensive I put down £150 on our original budget plan!! I was shocked when I phoned our town hall and got the price. Our service will only be about 15 minutes long and it's 15 minutes down the road from where our town hall is based although we are getting married on a Sunday. Seriously, I am in the wrong job!! xx

We have to pay £30 each to give notice of marriage, then it's £300 for the registrars to come to the venue, even though one of them is going to just stand there doing nothing as they have agreed to allow a family friend (who is a registrar elsewhere) to officiate!!! Add on to that that cost of the marriage certificate (although I think that's only £3.50) and the cost of the room hire for the ceremony a t the venuewhich is a whopping £585!!!! I keep telling myself its worth it as the room is fantastic and will put some photos up but it does add up.

Best thing would be to ring the local registrar's office or your town hall to check.

Ours is $325 CAD for the Officiator & $395 CAD for the venue including 2.5 hours hire, but ned to book for 3 hours

I think we need that amount of time as we need to get people there before us so from about 1pm the guests would arrive, we would get there at 1.30pm but he would be inside waiting for me.

We then get married at 2pm & service would be about 30 mins then have pics taken in the grounds for about an hour or hour & a half so that would be 3.30pm or 4pm we'd leave at to go to the reception where everyone else would be at that time :)

Ours is £33.30 each to give notice, cos it goes up after 6 April this year apparently. And the registrar fee is about £400, but they don't know exactly how much yet, the 2011 fees haven't been fixed yet.
