Can anyone help? I am really loving the idea of having a red wedding dress. I am struggling big time to find anything I like in the bridal shops, especially as I'm really not a white/ivory girl. Our colour theme is scarlet red and I love the idea of my dress being a key feature but I can't seem to find any in wedding shops! I have found them online but I want to be able to try it on before I buy. Has anyone seen any by any particular designers I could track down or has a red dress themselves?? Otherwise I think I may be looking at the route of getting it made by a couture company, but same again, I'd like to be able to try on before I commit to any particular style.
Any help would be appreciated!!

Hollywood dreams do red. To be honest I think any dress can be done in red. Best thing to do is ring round bridal shops and ask before you go and look. Someone will have some

Thank you, I did have a look at the hollywood dreams actually but they dont seem to stock them anywhere around here. I have a half sleeve of tattoos on my arm and it is such a struggle to find anything that suits if that makes sense!! I'm hoping something a bit different might be better for me :)

Yes! They stocked the ivory and the red but I was too small for the ivory which was a shame.. The designer is B00ny Br1dal and was from a bridal shop in Basingstoke - I don't know where you are based but if you are nearby, you could always pop in and see it!

Thanks for the replies everyone, I have been offline for a bit and only just read them. I have an appointment this Saturday to try on a red Eternity Bride dress D5221....excited!!! To all the 'red brides'...what colour bridesmaid dresses are you having?? I'm considering black....is that ok for a wedding?? I know it's ultimately up to me, but is black at a wedding generally frowned upon? xxx

Try bridesmaids dresses on too then order in red, they'll be so much cheaper. When I was a bridesmaid for my sister I tried on a bridesmaid dress which in all honesty was like a wedding gown in a colour not white or ivory. It was a D355y one I think.

My friend wore a lovely red dress, it was an a lined one with diamantes on the side. Really suited her as she has dark hair. Some dresses you can dye though, but I was told by the shop when I thought about dying mine for my graduation ball not to as the thread does not always dye properly. There are many on l!ght in the 80X that are wedding type bridesmaid dresses.

Stunning dress. If I was to wear a red, or any coloured dress, I think I would actually be tempted to put my bridesmaids in white/ivory dresses! Bit of a role reversal.. would make your dress stand out so much x

Maybe download a colour wheel app to get an idea of what colours work well. That's how I came up with my colour theme.

That's a great idea thanks :) Our colour scheme is red...i'll have to make the bridesmaid dresses and wedding dress a surprise, otherwise he may guess that I'm wearing a red dress and definitely want that to be a surprise. If he sees I've picked ivory dresses then he might guess...xx

Gold or champagne goes brilliantly with red, so you could put bridesmaids in that. If you want black go for it, but I would suggest that you have something like an accessory to offset the black, maybe in white or ivory.

I always wanted a red dress, I won mine (on here) and the shop didn't do red. Don't get me wrong, I love the one I've chosen and I'm over the moon that I won it (such a relief budget wise!) but the one you are going to try on looks amazing - enjoy :) x

So....It was BEAUTIFUL!!! I have gone away to 'think' about it but I just know I am going to have it!! I have an appt booked next month at a quirky place in London but I think I'm going to cancel it now. I am now thinking of having a red birdcage veil too :) Added bonus (for me anyway) was hearing from the wedding shop owner that I was the only person to have ever tried it on!! I cant understand why because it is just stunning..but perhaps not traditional enough for others! SO EXCITED NOW!!!

So happy it exceed your expectations! If the shop sample one fitted you I'd be tempted to ask to do you a deal and sell it to you as an ex sample, you would win big time as it's only been tried on by yourself and you could save yourself a fortune. (I'm in budget busting mode) love that dress!

I'm so pleased that you loved it, it is gorgeous. I saw the one I picked again on Saturday (first time since July) and I still love it, I stroke it which sounds really weird but I can't stop myself! x
