Did anyone else feel down afterwards? I feel like I should still be floating on air but I feel really down now we're back from honeymoon and back at work.

I really miss having things to do for the wedding. We're going away for hubby's birthday for a weekend in Nov then a shopping trip to Liverpool in Dec for Xmas shopping. Trying to have stuff planned to look forward to.

Did anyone else feel like this?

this happened to my friend! for a whole year or so it was just all about the wedding-nothing but the wedding that was all she would talk about-emailing etc etc and when she got back from her honeymoon she cried to me and said she felt a bit lost like it suddenly hit her and she felt very emotional! she then decided a baby would fill that void and that she would have something else to throw her time into!
i will prob feel the same tbh, right now my whole day revolves around thinking about the wedding-losing weight for the wedding-emailing the venue etc etc!
    xx

I kept myself busy but also had weddingy stuff to do after the honeymoon because it took 5 months to finally sort out our official photo albums with the photographer as part of our package, getting all our gifts from the gift list then a year later I did an unofficial album with our engagement shoot, stag and hen weekend, big day and honeymoon. They kept the wedding vibe going but slowly weaned me off. Also I'm still on here. I've still not cleaned my dress.

Find things to keep yourself busy.

I can imagine it must be hard. You spend all that time planning and looking forward to it, it must be strange not being able to do that anymore! I'd say just keep yourself busy and make sure you and your husband spend lots and lots of quality time together as newly weds :) x

I don't feel down, but I do feel our day went too quickly. We were supposed to get married at 3pm, but our registrar didn't turn up until 3:45, which shortened the day even more. I don't feel down, but I actually feel a chaotic weight has been lifted off my shoulders. We had so much wedding stuff going on, and now nothing!. Also we were paying money out left right and centre, so it's been nice to start to save money up again.

As awful as it sounds I'm dreading the wedding being over as I KNOW I'm going to feel the same! I'm so 'wedding, wedding, wedding' all the time it's gunna hit me hard when it's all over as happy ill be when I can finally say I'm married. We will have to wait about 4 months before we go on honeymoon too so I dont know if it's gunna be easier or harder!

I think I'll feel the same! It will be so weird not too have spreadsheets of things to buy and things to do! I am looking forward to having a bit more 'disposable income' though! Xxx

I get blues from time to time too. I was disappointed when the day ended, and really didn't want to take off the dress. It was such a shame after all that work for it to come to an end. At the same time though I was really excited for everything else that was coming, and have been focussing on all the name change things, the photo album, video and gifts since the honeymoon finished. I do miss the excitement of the build up, but at the same time when I watch other brides trying to get things together there is a part of me that is relieved that we've done it and can relax. When I feel sad that the day is done I just go back over it in my head.

I feel exactly the same and I have cried a few times. Then I went back to work (teacher) and it has been pretty full on and have booked things to look forward to and made plans. We live in a rented apartment so we are now looking to move to a house, we have re designed our place in terms of new furnishings and theme throughout, we have booked the Maldives for Easter and we are going to NYC next Christmas. We are also doing little things like having a takeaway to celebrate 2 months on Friday (something we dont usually do) and we are going to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park which we have wanted to do for a few years - combined these things are really taking my mind off it.
I agree with InDreamland too about the pictures thing, I am enjoy choosing and watching our video and montage clip over and over.
Most of our wedding things are at home in Lancashire where as we are in Sussex and we went home last weekend for the first time since the wedding - I found that tough everyone wanting to talk about it again and seeing our items- I have almost just put it in a box to forget about it for a while until I can enjoy it again without thinking "OMG its all over- what do I do now!"
Hubby and I made gift boxes for each other before the wedding and he made something for me which hadnt arrived in time, he is saving whatever it is until I am really down and need cheering up so that the wedding is not completely over :)

HOpe you can enjoy all the post wedding tasks ladies ..............I enjoyed writing all the thank you cards which we did about 6 weeks after the wedding. Then I loved sorting out the gift list and opening everything when delivered. The official and unofficial photo albums were great fun too xxx

Thanks IDL, I have thank you cards, name change and the photos to still look forward to.

I also have my chartered accountancy qualification to study for. I have plenty to do on that but it's just not exciting me

We also started fertility testing just before the wedding

I haven't really had them. I really do miss the day and feel down that I'll never experience that buzz again but I definitely don't miss the planning of the last few wks of hoping I'd remembered everything...glad I'm a little de-stressed there, but wish I could relive the day x

With you there, I'd love to relive the day. I wouldn't do it but can totally see why people start thinking about renewals straight after wedding

Not mine either, I meant them the first time and plan on living by them for the rest of my life so don't feel the need to renew.

Hubby said he can maybe see why people do if they didn't have the wedding they wanted
