As some of you know, my wedding date has been moved to just 4 months away, so need to get planning quick! We are having an afternoon tea party for our reception and I was thinking about trying to use wicker picnic baskets for decoration around the garden and filling them with summer flowers, but what do you think? In my head it looks pretty but not sure if it will work? Any opinions will be gladly received! :) xx

I saw some wicker baskets today ready made up covered in artificial flowers and they were lovely, really pretty. Would be great for your theme too.

for my centre pieces we're having steel jugs full of different colour wild summer flowers as we're kind of having the same ( but not exactly the same) theme as you...wild flowers everywhere bunting candles etc...your idea sounds lovely!!x

I love the sound of your centrepieces, we are having antique bird cages with either fresh flowers inside or different coloured paper pom-poms that I will make. The picnic baskets I just want randomly around the garden and maybe at the front of the house too by the door, as we are having our reception at home. Looking forward to getting it all done! :)

you can get these things cant remeber exactly what they are called, but they look really pretty as decorations for outside in the evening, theyre like paper bags that you put on the ground that have patterns cut into them and then when you fill them with special tealights the light makes patterns everywhere...iv seen the pics of your pom poms they are brill!!very clever, your wedding sounds like it will be beautiful x

yeah i know, lol, they don't sound great but look very pretty! i know what you mean with the tea light things, if we didn't have so many toddlers or babies at the wedding we might have had them, but can envisage a disaster if we did, lol. x

I am really excited! But because our date has been moved forward by about 14 months it is all go in getting lists done and buying what we can, a bit stressful when I have a troublesome toddler to chase around after, lol. But nice that I don't have to wait til next year now, we already had to cancel our wedding twice before so it is great to finally be doing it. The time will fly by though for you, it is amazing how quickly it comes around! :)

i really hope it does, sounds strange but sometimes i get a little down that its so far away and then h2b will come up to me and give me a hug and tell me he cant wait to marry me (like he knows what im thinking!) and it just reminds me it will be worth the wait!
from your pics it looks like you've got quite abit planned already :)) how old is your little one? my little girl ems is 3 in just under 2 weeks and can be a bit of a handful sometimes!x

Yeah it will work out this time, the first one was just due to my h2b having a knee injury that kept him off work for 5 months and we suffered the knock on effect for a long time afterwards financially. But now we are keeping it small and intimate. And I have had plenty of time to plan things, but keep changing my mind, lol. Now that we are doing it quite short notice I don't think I will get the dresses I want for my younger BMs but that is no big deal. I have my dress, shoes and peony hair comb, so that is something.
And my little girl Grace is 17 months old and a lot of fun but a lot of trouble too, lol. She loves climbing which can be quite scary, so I have to have eyes in the back of my head but it keeps me busy til h2b gets home, then he can have a go watching her, lol. x

Our garden is just big enough Jo to fit in about 40 people, any more than that it would be pushing it, lol. And for the older ones, they can sit in the living room if they want, will just leave the patio doors open so they can still be a part of the gathering, lol.

Sounds lovely. Can you fit them all inside if it rains or you have got cover outside too? We could get 40 in our garden but they would be like sardines in a tin can haha.

We could pack them in the house if needs be, and because it is mainly close friends we are inviting it would just be funny if it did rain, but we will have a big gazebo covering the tables etc. which will be fine for a light shower, but thinking positively, it will not rain, it will not rain! lol.

Lol. We used to go to a friends for BBQ and you could guarantee every time he lit the BBQ it would start to rain. We always had great fun watching him standing outside with a brolly over the BBQ getting wet while we all watched from the shelter of the house waiting for him to bring the food in. Things like that make for the best of memories so it doesn't matter either way you will have a great day. I will keep my fingers crossed though that you get lovely weather.

You are very right there Jo, if it happens it will be a funny and special memory. But I want at least an hours sunshine outside so everyone can see how pretty it all looks! Aw that is a shame Rags, lol, we are quite lucky in having a decent garden with this house, the one before just had a yard, that would have only done for about 4 people, lol.
