I'm in major panic over my reception. I found out by my H2B's dad that the venue where we've booked our reception has gone bankrupt. They didnt call us to let us know.
We only live in a small town and we've got a low budget so we cant afford much. But living in a small town, there's not many options left. Only a couple of places and one is really really bad.
Cant believe businesses can be like this.

God I don't know what to say hun! How about a picnic/bbq in someone's back garden? Some of the girls are doing that, makes it very personal...!

Oh no, that's not easy!! Check your insurance if you've got any, get in touch with the venue and doublecheck, (could just be hear'say) and then be calm for a few minutes and think about where else you'd like. xxx

Worth keeping in touch too - it could be bought very quickly and the new owners could honour bookings. Worth speaking with administrators etc if need be but have a back up plan too. Good luck!

I'd definitely check with the venue themselves, and as Kizzy said, keep an eye on it, as a wedding brings in good money for the venue, so under new management they are likely to honour bookings. If it has indeed gone backrupt then look around. have a think about what you wnat, I'm sure some family might come up to the rescue and help out a bit if funds are tight due to this unforeseen event. Thinking of you!

Thanks guys. I didnt put any money down on it just yet so i'm lucky there. I wouldnt get my money back. Called them up when i found out and a member of staff confirmed it (none of the managers/owners) were available to talk.
I've had a couple of ideas, I just hope they are big enough and are able to get us in as the wedding is this november.
Invites have already gone out but I can just write out to everyone explaining what happened and where the new venue is. Its just a pain in the bum really.
