Wedding Forum - Official 2017 thread!!...

got a question about boutonnieres, do you get the same for men and women and are you all having them? I am not sure but I think I want artificial ones, they will be easier to transport, if I get them from the states they will be fresh and cost £12 each. No point asking OH just get grunts!

My oh doesn't want one so we're not having any. Me and my bridesmaid will be having a bouquet. I'm wondering whether or not to get my MIL a buttonhole. To me it looks a bit 80's style

Ours are 3.50 each for the men and £8 for moms. The moms will have more in them. Groomsmen just a rose and OH a rose and September flowers xx

I managed to find one shop that had a perfect dress for me in Lincoln. I've been to Rotherham though and didn't find anything I like better, so got the dress from the shop in Lincoln :)

Yay I know where both Eagle and Branston are, both very beautiful locations! We live in North Hykeham. Went to the wedding fair at Branston Hall actually.

having abit of drama, h2b has a son and the mother isnt letting him come to the wedding now, shes stopped him seeing his son for the last 2 months, i think so that he cant come to the wedding as h2b usually sees him every 2nd sunday. Nothing he can do either :(

They havent been together for 13 years! And shes been with someone for 5, so its not like shes annoyed that hes getting married, she just doesnt like it when their son has fun with our side of the family. H2B and his sons mum really dont get on so shes doing it to get at h2b, just a shame that his son is in the middle and will miss out, he was so excited :( x

Having a very productive weekend, we are DIYing alot so im getting that all finished today. Also got to tidy the house as my mum and her partner are traveling up on wednesday and staying over for a few days, oh dear ive warned them its a mess as the weddings taken over lol.

H2B made us big led love letters too, they look great!! Going to sell them after too for some honeymoon money :)

Hi all!

We are having a drama at the moment with h2bs best man! His own marriage has broken down - he found out around 6 months ago that his wife has been having a full blown affair for months. They have only been married 2 years. His head is a mess and he's not had any part of the wedding which has upset my h2b. I can imagine it's really difficult for him but he's made zero effort. I don't know if he's going to be able to make a speech - he's not even coming to h2b get together for a mini stag this Friday.
I'm dreading him being there on the day if I'm honest as he makes everything about him. My h2b dad died recently and the best man went to the funeral and made a scene as him and his wife had argued the night before! I don't know what to do! I feel awful telling him not to come if I can see signs of this happening again as he's paid to fly to our destination wedding. Reason we are going abroad was to get away from drama! Think my only option is to wait and see what he's like the couple of days before the wedding and make a decision on the day or the evening before! What would everyone else do? We have had a word with him and asked just for one day could he just put everything to one side so he can concentrate on being a best man.
Feel awful slagging him off but I want my day to be stress free and I don't want to babysit a grown man!

He just keeps saying I'll be alright I'll sort myself out. He did want to bring his ex but I point blank said no as they constantly argue and don't get why you would want to go with someone that you no longer live with or even get on with. Instead he has asked his parents to come. He hasn't said anything about the speech if I'm honest... I can't explain what he's like in his ways he's a bit 'special' in a nice way!
We have asked another friend of h2b to have something ready just incase! He told us a week ago he couldn't handle it and he wasn't even coming because he couldn't take his ex off the booking - we spoke with him and explained that we didn't want dramas as we are all in the same hotel with mostly my family. I'm friends with her myself and she said it was for the best if she didn't go so he then changed the name to someone else. Bit of a nightmare isn't it! Lol! Hopefully with his parents there he will be alright! They won't be at the wedding as it's all been paid for and arranged and don't see why I should add them when I don't know who they are!

got everything done now, just got to rush around tomorrow and do the few last odd bits! going to be abit of a manic day tomorrow i think.
Poor h2b tried to take this week of work but his phone is non stop (he has his own company so has to deal with the calls :() hes so stressed bless him hopefully tomorrow will be abit calmer for him, dont want him been super stressed right before the wedding!
H2b's ex is letting us have his son now yay!! only for a little bit, but is better than nothing :) x

On a personal note, just got a call from the bridal shop to get measured for my dress. Just got to get it made and then fitted! Is it possible to lose 5 stone in 4 weeks

If only Wundatigga, realistically I am aiming for a stone. Cutting out carbs and caffeine has meant I lost just under a stone on the last few weeks so I hope I can do it. As long as my arms and back aren't flabby I don't mind (although a massive loss would be good

I've finally got my dress fitting on Wednesday - looking forward to getting my dress on again even if a little nervous.

I'm starting to regret having both my SIL to be as my best girls. I thought we were all getting close and had hoped that it would bring our closer/seal the bond but they've hardly been any help at all in the last year. Not seeming interested in any of my plans one of them isn't even coming to my hen party despite me making sure we did something that she could be included in (she's 17) - I know in the long run it's not important but I just feel so disappointed.

Edited to add*** make that BOTH my bridesmaids pulling out of my hen party - okay well this one hasn't pulled out officially but she has basically just told me she can't afford it and has the cheek to ask if it could be her birthday present!


So sad-mad right now

We're doing a spa break at £135 per person.

I could ask them to step down and save myself loads of money (hair and make up) but it might make things awkward with them being OH's sister and sister in law.

I've told OH how disappointed I am and that I wish I hadn't of bothered asking them but he's told me we'll talk about it later. OH had initially offered to pay for his sister with her being only 17 and still at school (would have been part of her 18th birthday present) but she's still not coming.

Annoying of your in laws to be to behave like that :/

But just try to let it go and focus on people who really care about it and want to help make your hen do special :*

Well this will probs be my last update! We leave for Cyprus tomorrow morning. Feeling quite nervous but excited. Got two days of meetings with suppliers / our planner and town hall. So going to be a busy couple of days before the big day! Will be back on shortly and hopefully I'll have a few pictures to share :-) Bye for now xxxx
