Wedding Forum - Official 2017 thread!!...

I do sort of understand the whole company thing and I know in your OH's mind (as it is my OH's) it is more important that the wedding as it's more long term. With everything we have going on, we also have a young company which has taken and tied up a large chunk of OH's money (4 times as much as I earn in a year) and although we can afford the wedding, and the house move and everything else, money is real tight right now and I hate asking my OH for money ever - so having to remind him several times that the next payment for this or X is real hard.

I'm just glad you've managed to sort it out with no more than a few raised voices :)

I've made a start on wedding party gifts. Picked up some bags for the best girls. I decided to make the bag part of the actual gift rather than just have a paper type party bag, so the 2 adults and my eldest daughter have got cute Radley tote bags (photos in my album) and my baby girl has a personalised unicorn bag. I'm just going to put in some chocolates and a photo frame with an IOU in it for the older two and some books/colouring/activities for my younger two, and will get some sort of hanging ornament/charm made with the usual thanks for being our "bridesmaid" on it.

Trying not to go over the top with it all as I have already paid for their dresses and will be paying for their hair and makeup too, but it's difficult as i am such a giver lol

We are giving the mums a pretty flower plant, its called Clematis Wedding Day and has pretty white flowers so it can be something permanent that reminds them of the day. Guess this would only suit people who like gardens etc.

Could you get FOG and bestman a pocket watch too? Or what about a personalised hip flask? xx

yea our mums and dads are getting exactly the same thing each as to not upset/favourite anyone! xx

BM - make up bag, mug, candle, onesie, framed character picture of you both, charm bracelet
FOG - golf balls, tools like a hammer, tie, pocket watch,

Emily we are sorting our selves out- I'm sorting my side he he is sorting the men- I quite like it that way as its his responsibility- to be fair my OH is good at presents anyway

What about personalized socks and mugs for the men if they are not big drinkers

About me, invites are getting ready, still need to send off to print though. Had a look about doing the flowers ourselves. For what I've seen, it is possible to do it, as we can order the flowers the week before the wedding and use them the day before so they will bloom properly :) Need to start sorting the other things out, though. Work is just consuming me soooo much, I'm always dying tired when I get home.

Trying to loose some weight, but I have no interest on going to the gym. So I've decided to start exercising on the W11 (the video game). It is fun, I do it in my lounge, and spend an hour on it. Trying to do it everyday (not much success, to be honest). Also decided to quit potato for a month. We just eat potatoes every single day. Completely mad.

We got my bridal set from 4 G & 50ns5 :)

Roger's Gran finally passed away on Friday :( Considering they gave her days to live back in January she lived for another 4 weeks! Just had to prove them all wrong. After all the sadness the beginning of the year has bought I am quite looking forward to the summer and celebrating our wedding.

So I will honour both Gran and Nan at the wedding with a chair each at the service. I am going to lay hand tied fresh flowers (my other flowers are artificial) with a tag with their name on, as well as having their photos in my bouquet - I'll then take the flowers to their graves after the day.

Ours were from an independent jeweller. Hand made and hand engraved for us :)

MrsC2Be - I was in the same boat as I have a square diamond, but they had one, I shopped around a fair bit and was quoted near £900 for a plain White gold one so was chuffed when I found this one. I was being a snob initially, but actually I was very wrong about that shop x

Sorting out some of the photos for the memory table after my mom sent me one of my dads Dad and I burst out crying! Back story, My Granddad died when my Dad was 4 so he doesn't know much about him so we never really talk about him.
But on each photo we are putting their name and who they are

But I didn't know my Granddads name, i just didn't know it at all and was a blubbering mess. Called her at this time of night sobbing for something so pathetic.

I love the photos though i still need my one Granddad and my one Nan but i have the others and love them.

I might change the one of my Uncle (third from the right on top). And if i can get an older one of my Granddad i will change that but i doubt i will. I have only ever seen 2 pics of him and the second one he is older but its a small picture of his head, its a full body shot of him and 2 others so i wouldnt be able to use it for this..

So emotional sorting out this part of the day!!
