I'm off to the wedding show in London on February 20th and just wondering if the Vip tickets are worth the £35? I've seen some posts on Google saying the goodie bags are just the same as you get with the standard ticket, also Groupon are selling standard tickets for £8!

I would do VIP just to make sure you get a seat at the catwalk and you get the VIP area to chill out... it can be a quite manic day so having a little place to escape is good xx

Hi Nuala. We went to the National Wedding Show at the NEC last year with standard tickets and we weren't blown away. I imagine the show at London will be lots bigger with more suppliers, but when we walked past the VIP section it looked nothing special, they just got to drink champagne and stuff, but there was a restaurant we could sit down in, eat and have a drink. We got a deal on our tickets but I still didn't think the price we paid was really worth it, so I'd be inclined to say VIP wouldn't really be worth the money... xx

I've never been but if its anything like the cycling, motorbike or car shows I've been too then I would stick with a standard ticket. The company's hand free goodie bags out to everybody. V.i.p will probably gain you earlier entry and front row seats to one of the shows. Saying that, this cold be very different so. Go with your gut. I have a standard ticket as I had to buy three, I'm not really planning on buying anything, just having a look around and getting some ideas so it wasn't worth going v.i.p for us really! I'm going to the Manchester one, is anybody else?

Thanks ladies, I'm more inclined to just get a standard ticket. The vip gives fast track entry and a free glass of champers, a book that I'll probably never read and £30 worth of free make up including Bare Minerals which I already use and its about £20 for a powder so doubt there'd be much in it
We got VIP tickets and it was really good and was well worth it! You only get married once but it's personal choice though :)

I guess for us, we weren't interested in the cat walks, the shows etc.. we literally just went to get ideas, and we still got a great goody bag! I can imagine VIP might be fun if you're having a girly day out (although still a lot of money for a ticket if you ask me), but if just you and your OH I wouldn't really recommend it. My OH would have hated to sit through cat walks and stuff lol x

I want to go to the London one but we have nothing left to decide on :( we missed out on a lot of wedding fairs/shows as we set the date in June last year and there wasn't much going on over the summer :(

I've been to last 3 London shows, grab the Group on deal as it sells out quickly. That's what we did last time (£8 each).
We paid the £35 VIP the first time we went and weren't impressed with what you get for the extra money. Fast track wasn't important as there were never any queues, the VIP area was shoddy and we got goody bags each time regardless of what we paid. You get a bit of makeup with the VIP ones but it was the wrong colour for my skin. I found I could see the cat walk stage better by standing, than with the VIP seat too.

I'm going to the Olympia one on feb 21st with mum and bridesmaid, standard tickets on a Bogof so a tenner each, just looking forward to a day altogether having a look about getting ideas, might see about tiara jewellery and bridesmaid dresses and anything else that jumps out at us but I've already got my dress and a few suppliers lined up so don't really need the catwalks etc. many others going?

I'd probably get the deal for the standard tickets. I'd love to go but we've booked everything and it's awkward trying not to get sucked in by suppliers when walking past lol.

That is one thing I HATED.. I don't mind a friendly "Hello.. let me know if there is anything I can help you with" but I cannot stand people really trying to sell you something and getting in your face. Happened a lot at the NEC!!

Oh I'm quite good at letting them get excited thinking I'm going to buy then I wander off with the free pen or whatever it was they tried to lure me in with! Lol I work in blue water so have been to various baby and wedding shows they put on when they give out the free tickets but now I'm looking to shop so I know what I'm after and what I'm not! I remember a Greek man trying to talk me into wedding on a boat sailing around the Greek Islands once! Lol I think he was just happy for someone to talk to!

Its awful because I hate saying no so I will let them talk knowing full well that I'm not interested.. I did end up just walking past and saying 'no thanks' before they could get anything else in towards the end of the day! The worst was a woman selling weddings on a cruise ship.. we'd already told her we'd booked our venue but she went on and on and on about how fabulous it is marrying on a cruise ship and how cheap it is etc etc...!!

We got VIP tickets on offer last year for the NEC and it was definitely worth it - the VIP area was a good place to get away from the crowds and relax for a bit while deciding which stands we wanted to visit.

I had to sort through all my leaflets when I got home, I think I kept 2 or 3 and just put the rest straight into the recycling box!
