ooh which ones did you get? I have some skechers shape ups but mainly for my back as apparently it helps posture. I also have a couple of pairs of fit flops for the same reason, and I live in them during the summer thay're so comfortable.

You just wear them for walking.
Mine were just cheap Gola ones they were £20 off eBay but you can get them in Wynsors for about £25 for that price they are worth a go IMO.

So tempted to try these - I walk to work every day, so adding something to that would be great! I've tried to use ankle weights, but they dug in and have cut the top of my foot...

I'm pretty sure that Goff (who specialises in the area) said that they do more harm than good for your feet and they are a big no no. The medical field do not recommend them at all. Think there was a thread about it before where she explained the reasons but can't remember what it was called now.

Well done for finding it. In the mean time I have copied and pasted what Goff said here for you just in case it gets lost again

    Ok - professional head on

    DO NOT WEAR THESE THINGS!

Your legs ache because you are using muscles that are NOT meant to be used - its unnatural and you are doing more harm than good.

We prescribe rocker soles to people who have ankle fusions and other limited motion at the foot and ankle - you DON'T have limited motion.........so you figure out what they are doing for a healthy foot and ankle! And don't forget....whatever happens at your feet will affect the whole body - knees, hips, spine etc.....

Please bin these god awful things, they will NOT tone up any part of your body - the only thing that will do that is a good diet and exercise. They are a gimmick - nothing more

PS: Millwalljayne - if you are in pain with your joints, get to your GP and ask to be referred to an Orthotist - we can do a full musculo-skeletal assessment, find out whats going on and hopefully address the symptoms.

Sorry didn't mean to bust your bubble just thought it would be useful for you to see the other side of things so you can make your own minds up. I would say anything that is making your toes or knees hurt like that is not a good thing though.

I have never heard of them.. i once advised an ex girlfriend of mine to walk three miles in the morning and then three miles in the evening to shift some unwanted fat.... she asked me if this would work, and i told her it would and at the end of the week she would be 42 miles away, anmd that was good enough for me

    Ha ha!

I love my new trainers, they do look like 1995 called and they want their shoes back but if I put my kick flare/boot cut jeans on they cover them up and I'm 2" taller it's like wearing high heals without the indescribable agony associated with wearing high heals.

There's a point I'm not so worried about them doing damage when some people wear stilletoes every day there's no way they could be that bad.
