So I got engaged in March, and after reading many horror stories I didn't yet ask my bridesmaids, although my oldest friend knows she is But I still want to ask her nicely. Plus we were going to have a longer engagement. We are getting married in 2018 so still plenty of time but because I'm doing a lot of planning next year I thought it is a good time to ask.
I'm having 3 bridesmaids, although they have met at my engagement party, they don't really know eachother.
I was going to invite them all to afternoon tea around Christmas where I'm going to put a present in each place set, and have a little box of cute things and a card asking to be my BM/MOH.
I'm certain they will all say yes, as we are close in different ways. I want to be there to ask them.
Does this sound ok?
How did you ask yours?

Hi Kelly,
I am a 2018 bride too and also have three bridesmaids. I would have loved to ask them with little gifts but I was so excited after getting engaged I couldn't wait and text them all.
I set up a group on the book of face and did a small introduction into who each of them were and one of my best moments with each and they all met at a wedding fayre we went to.
Your idea sounds absolutely fab and I'm sure they will love it. x

It's been a struggle not to ask especially as I work with one of them! I'll create a group after that's a good idea.
It's just going to be a pain getting them altogether at once! But I'll give it a go.
How's your planning going?

My planning is going good thanks for asking, gaining more momentum each month!
I know what a pain it can be to get them all in the same location at the same time, my three are in Stoke, Wolverhampton and Coventry but I'm sure you will get something organised.
The group gives them a chance to get to know one another on their terms and is also a great place for me to run ideas past them as well.

I sent mine cards through the post so when they opened them it was a complete surprise. Your idea sounds amazing, I am sure they will love it!
I just asked mine outright - wish I had done something more fun now, you can get great hampers and I like the ideas of them balloons that you pop.
The afternoon tea idea sounds lovely Legobride. I was bursting to ask mine I don't think I'd have been able to keep it secret for long. Plus my OH had his best man picked out before he even asked me to marry him as they went ring shopping together x

HopeMelissa thats really cute!
Kathleen, Its more and more difficult each day! Especially as things are getting planned and I can't talk to them like their bridesmaids, and send them funny pictures yet. Well I do my MOH but because she knew her place years before I got engaged.

I asked all mine online. My h2b sister in law knew all about the wedding and that I had pick my moh and bridesmaids little did she know I was asking her next. I asked if her daughter would be a flower girl left it a week then just popped it into general chitchat. I love your idea wish I could of done something like that but one of my bridesmaids lives over 300 miles away from me so it wasn't possible.

one of my maids lives in wales so i couldnt ask her face to face. We have been friends since school so I had a look back and found every photo of us I could find and ordered them from oldest to newest in a photo album like a timeline and on the last page i put a print out from g00gl3 saying "Will you be my bridesmaid?".
