We're having a live duet of guitar and singer who will sing covers of Eva Cassidy - Songbird for walking in. For the signing of the register -Ellie Goulding - How Long Will I Love You, John Legend - All Of Me and Sleeping at Last - I'm gonna be(500 miles). For walking out we're having McFly - Its all about you
I've also put in a special request that the duo are learning especially for the day of Everything by Alanis Morrisette (although I have asked they change a word in the first line so not to offend R's family)

I'm still pondering my walking in song. For signing the register we have been told to pick a few tunes so we don't run out of music so going for Someone Like You by Van Morrison, Evergreen by Barbra Streisand and Islands in the Stream by Dolly Parton. I'm hoping the guests might fancy singing along to our last choice which would be great. Walking out will be We Go Together from Grease. H2B idea :) Background music during meal will be our guests choices as we are going to add a request section to our invites. H2B will then download them to his tablet or ipod.

I'm not Michelle - my dad is dreading the walk down the aisle, never mind getting him to dance in front of everyone too lol
CommentAuthorShellbell
I'm not having 1. I'm having 1 with my boys though as they are walking me down the aisle. Well I say my boys may only be with my youngest as my older 1 has autism and doesn't like dancing being centre of attention and his anxiety levels will be high enough by walking me down x

Walking in / Out music to be confirmed - we're seeing our Priest tonight. I can't recall seeing an organ in the church so intil I know what is what have held off. ! First Dance - Annie's Song by John Denver Last Dance - Love Was My Alibi (The Water Diviner) by Kris Fogelmark - we heard this a few months ago when we watched the film and both loved it. OH cries everytime we listen to it!!
Wedding Breakfast - classical music over the sound system.
Probably won't be having a father / daughter dance as like Nicola, my Dad will find it nervous enough walking down the aisle and doing a speech!

Do you think it should be a female singer for your walking in song?? I have always felt it should be as it's a women effectively singing to a man. Thing is I want to walk in to The Rose. The Bette Midler version is too slow. Leanne Rimes did a version that is nice but a bit country so I'm left with the Westlife version which is my favourite by far. Anyone else walking into a song that's by a male artist?
CommentAuthorLauraH813
LindsayH81 just had a listen to Love was my Alibi....wow what a beautiful song.
CommentAuthorSuper4ac
Laura I don't think it matters at all whether it's a guy or a girl singing. It's just the feeling behind the song and in the words that matter! Plus people will be too busy watching you walk down the aisle to notice who's singing the song ;)
CommentAuthorLouiseyweesey
Walking in - Ave Maria (Schubert) Signing the register - Panis Angelicus and Amazing Grace (my friend is a tenor singer so he's doing it) Exit - Grand March from Aida (Verdi)
We're also having Lord of All Hopefulness and One More Step Along the World I Go as hymns :-) xxxx
CommentAuthorMaxineP89
No father/daughter dance for us. Dad is not so clever on his feet, and even if he was ok, he wouldn't be able to stand for that long. Will just about be able to manage it down the isle (its a short one)
Looking forward to becoming the 3rd and last Mrs McLauchlan

We are having a registry office wedding this weekend. So just having them play their classical music. We don't have a reception either so no dance. Our meal is at a nice restaurant with just our families and a few friends so given that our wedding is llltwo weeks before Christmas I think they may play Christmas music. :)

Walking in we are having our violinists play - Pachebel's Canon in D, for the signing of the register are violinists will be playing Air on G string and a version of thinking out loud!! We are still thinking on what song to play on our exit, possibly (A moment like this by Leona Lewis) our fist dance will be thinking out loud /mixed in with a more upbeat track about half way through to get everyone on the dance floor with us more like Jess Glynnes Real love x
