Has anyone tried microdermabrasion? I've been given an online quote for a treatment it's 67 pound or 92 pound with a peel ..

I don't really know what they do but this is what it says about the treatment..

Get smooth, soft skin with microdermabrasion. This popular treatment offers deep exfoliation, lifting dull and dead cells, visibly revitialising your complexion and preparing your skin for more advanced treatments.

Anyone had it done and think it's worth it? It's quite a bit of money just for a skin treatment especially if it doesn't really do much

my best friend had it done last year. she thought she ahd bad skin but it wasnt too bad. it is expensive and too be honest you cant tell the difference but she thinks you can.

she know has to use all their skin care products which cost a fortune aswell. for a couple of days after each treatment your face is really red aswell xx

You can do microdermabrasion your self. They do some kits in boots. I've used them and there is a really good one but I can't remember the name of it, I'll find out and let you know.
It's basically like a face scrub but with very fine particles and then an intense moisturising cream. I have really sensitive skin and it was fine on mine.
Made my face very smooth and helps to smooth out wrinkles as well.

MzEden, I have very sensitive skin but very combination skin, it drives me mad. Most sensitive stuff is for dry skin so if I use it I have oil over load.. I will have a look on boots website though, I think No7 might do a cream but not sure if it would be any good!

it does work but you may need more than one treatment...l it basically blasts off the top layers of dead skin cells

you wont look like someone else it makes your skin smoother and can help with acne and scaring but just depends on your skin to begin with...

its not painless does hurt a bit more so if your skin is sensitive and afterwards you will be red for up to 5 days depending on your skin ...

I don't think I could afford to have it done regularly but it does sound pretty good. hmmm dilemma

Clinique and No7 have there own creams, maybe I should try one of those first before spending loads of money

personally i wouldnt go for the over the counter kits as they dont work... they arent strong enough ... the proper ones is high powered resurfashing... think areally fine piece of sandpaper to an course orbitol sander ... you get more off with an electrical orbitol sander than you do with a piece of fine sandpaper...

    but hey that my opinion...

It was the L'oreal micro etc. Silver packet, 2 tubes. 1 scrub, 1 moisturiser. The particles are very fine. DO NOT get it in your eyes. I think it's about 30 quid but you do get more than 10 applications from that.

without looking it would be hard to say as i dont know your skin type etc,but if you tell them that they should have a facial to suit, you may just need a basic facial as that will cleanse your pores and help with acne and blackheads or depending how bad it is you may need a more in depth one,id say av your consultation and if they say owt you dont understand or they recommend a few and your not sure i ll gladly help, just hard to advise you without knowing your skin n prob areas.xx

dermatology stuff are good, but i tend to use olay stuff all you need is a cleanser, toner, facial scrub and moisturiser.start by cleansing the skin,i tend to do this twice[all the bottles should av instructions 4 use] then apply your toner and then moisturise.do this twice a day, takes bout 5mins then once a week use a facial scrub, this helps with spots and blackheads,i use olays daily thermal skin polisher as its mild enough to use daily but good enough for once a week.any products are fine to use sometimes the shops own brand can be just as good as the expensive stuff so play around till you find one that works best for you,tho id deff recommend the olay skin polisher.and your welcome,ur not buggin me i enjoy it.x

Claire, I suffer with the same as you and I find that everything for combination/oily skin works the best. I've got a clinique foundation from boots, especially for covering redness and it's for oily skin so it lasts much longer and I've started wearing a primer and really noticed a difference. I normally use clarins cleanser etc but I'm not seeing much difference so I'm gonna try no7 as it's for really sensitive skin but can get it for oily skin! x

I have really dry skin normally but I find if I use cleansers and creams for dry skin my skin ends up FAR too oily and my make up doesn't last two minutes, it literally rubs off where it's so oily. I don't use anti wrinkle cream and Im nearly 25 lol xx

I use the time delay (did I get that right?) from boots, it does leave you face feeling smooth but you have to make sure you use the moisturiser that comes with it because it makes my skin peel as if I've had sunburn for the next couple of days, lol a bit gross I know xx

with eczema you need to be carefull of the perfumes as they dry your skin out more the oilatum skin care stuff are great you can buy them in chemists and boots and they are specially for dry skin conditions, also foundation can clog n dry your skin out so if you can only use it when really necc,a good concealer can work just as good and you can buy treatment concealers that help with blemishes at the same time as concealing them,or buy a liquid concealer for a similur but lighter coverage to foundation.x

Just got back from boots.. I have a hot cloth cleanser, purifying toner, essential day cream, micro-dermabrasion exfoliater, protect and perfect foundation and a protect and perfect pressed power, all for 44 pound!

I was going to try oilatum for the rest of my body as I suffer with eczema every where else but I've been using a clinique body butter and been finding that pretty good so just gonna use up the tub before trying anything else as it was so expensive!

I've also got a doctors appointment on friday so going to bring up my acne and eczema and see if there's anything he can give me, especially get him to check me out for keritosis pilaris!

I can't take the pill and I wouldn't want to, I have PCOS and me and h2b have been trying for a baby for over 2 years now ALTHOUGH I don't have periods and it's been suggested I take the pill to see if it kick starts my periods again. So maybe I should consider it if it could help all round.. We've stopped trying as obviously if miracles happened and I fell pregnant now I'd be a pregnant bride so maybe in these 8 months in the lead up to the wedding I could try the pill.. hmmm

ha,its there job they should be doing something, yes unfortunatly her boyfriends a bit of an idiot but shes happy so thats what matters, hope things go as well for you,tho my biggest advice would be to stop trying,we had 3 misscarriages and my partner wanted to carry on trying but 7 mnth later and a million neg pregnancy tests id had enough,i told him i needed a break then 9wk later my period was late and a test confirmed i was pregnant.think when you v been trying for so long you get so stressed out and put so much pressure on yourself that just relaxing and taking a step back can be the biggest miracle!! x

Yeah I think we're at that point now. Had two miscarriages and everyones like "oh well atleast you know it can happen" but that doesn't make it seem any better. The way I look at it is I cant get pregnant, if I do I loose it. We're thinking about trying IVF after the wedding but we've given up in the lead up to the wedding so who knows what might happen if I stop thinking about it. I don't have periods though, that's what's getting to me, how can I get pregnant when I'm not ovulating?!?! Maybe the pill might sort that out, I dunno! Def worth a try xx

yeah, think getting pregnant and then it all going wrong can feel worse than not getting pregnant at all,has your doctor done any tests, you could still be ovulatin even tho your not having periods, and before you start the expensive route of ivf they should be helping you find out why this is happening.i saw loads of doctors i was seriously on there backs loads, they tried telling me i had pcos but i didnt really have the symptoms, then i had my pe and they found out i misscarry becaause my blood clots more than it should,it took them 6yrs to tell me this.so just keep on at them,at the end of the day its your happiness and they need to take it seriously.x
