how many people are designing menus for their tables? i dont think im gonna bother because my attendants are not having a choice in what they get so it just seems like an unnecessary expense. plus, if people know what they are having, they might want to change their meal! it seems like too much hassle! but what do you guys think? menus for a set meal, or not bother with them? x

I've decided not to have them on the tables either as I don't want them looking cluttered. I've made some slips to go in the invites that have the menu choice on and then they send me their choice back so they will already have a copy at home. By the time the day comes it will be too late to change it anyway so it will be tough they eat what they ordered lol.

I am making our menus, all i have done is bought Tolsby frames from IKEA which hold 6x4 inch photographs, then i will design the menus in photoshop and have them printed as 6x4 photos. job done.

Our venue to do this as part of the package but if they didnt I'm not sure... I suppose I'd have to as we've got 2 options but its a bit of a pain in the backside. I wouldnt bother if we were having set menu - maybe some sort of info on the way in so everyone can see it? x

Anne i have those too ( this is getting spooky) we are putting the table name in on side the the menu on the other
@lala spooooooooky! If you look in my ''decorations for my wedding'' album and you will see i am doing the EXACT SAME THING!!!!!!!! table names of 1940/50s icons! on the reverse side of the menus.
I originally bought some shabby chic frames to use as table numbers, but then decided on table names instead, and they wouldnt fit in the smaller frames.....i am thinking about using the smaller frames for pictures of me and H2B when we were kids.

Thank you, i am a wedding photographer and as such i go to lots of weddings, and i saw this done at a wedding last year. then when i realised i couldnt use these smaller frames for table names, i decided i would copy that idea. the pictures i have on my computer are in colour, but i think i will have them printed in black and white to age them a bit. or even a sepia tone to look more vintage-ey?

No me neither. I'm sure it would look lovely but i'll stick to white. Also if I'm buying 8 (or possibly 16 as may to 2 to a table) I might sell them on on ebay afterwards and think people might prefer them white!

i bought 10, and having 2 per table, it saves people stretching too far to get hold of one, as my tables are round seating 6, so the tables are pretty big. afterwards i might try selling them on fleabay too, or just give them to some of the family members with a picture of them at our wedding on one side and a picture of us on the other. they were cheap enough to just let go really i suppose.

although guests will be sending menu choices back with their rsvp's I'm still going to put menu's on the table, was thinking of putting who ordered what on the table, or failing that, have no menu and put their options on the reverse of the table number x
CommentAuthorbridalmiss
I'm putting menus on the tables but only because my design and print was free as a wedding gift, and we're bringing out multiple canapes, mini mains and desserts so it's easier if people know what's coming out :-)

if you look in my albums, we put a little leaflet inside our invites with a little poem the menu and directions in so that they have it with them. I'm not putting any out on the tables as i think the hotel does that for us but i'm not that bothered really as everyone is eating the same
