    Hello

Really I'm an intruder here, I'm stepmother to one of the brides!

There's going to be 3 weddings in 2014 in our family. There was a sort of big conference a few weeks ago when the 3 couples discussed the possibility of combined ceremonies etc. Then the discussion got round to dresses, styles, corset or not, corset style or not etc etc.

It was really odd that the men present seemed to have a wide range of opinions on the subject. Here are some of them.

1.Yes a corset helps you look EVEN more beautiful on the special day
2.I will enjoy unlacing you in the evening
3.I don't want you compressed out of your natural shape
4.Will I need a can opener on the night?
    5.Wear what you want

Have you asked your man on this topic, and what does he think?

    Mary

I've not actually asked my chap about this, but point number two really tickled me xD

I wonder if anyone of them would be able to see straight to unlace any of us ladies on our wedding nights ha

I'll wear whatever I want. He has no say in it!!

As for the second point, my h2b will be too pissed to undo it. He can't even undress himself when he's drunk haha xx

My H2b loves corsets, I think its the narrow waist and unlacing thing. But that in no way influenced my wedding dress decision - that was all the dress calling me lol.

God knows how I will get out of my dress if he's drunk - I may be sleeping in it - worried now hahaha

My h2b has said that he likes corsets because they pull in the waist and push up the bust, but my dress isn't corseted so I guess he will be disappointed! lol xxx

Thank you for your replies, I hope all goes well for your weddings - in your chosen dress!

I didn't mention it my original post, but at the family "meeting" (everyone talking, nobody listening!) the subject of dresses turned to corsets, which led to "why" a corset. Of course, a good corset will do wonders for any figure - but some men see it as a means of control, and even "keeping the goods well packaged". That's why I asked the question.

What I've also found out over the years is that some women will happily wear a corset in order to look good, some even like the "hug" and posture that a good corset will give you. Other women will always say "no" to anything that hints at restriction and distortion.

Anyway, after working in the bridal business a few years ago, it seems that everyone agrees that at the end of the evening it doesn't matter who unlaces the corset, as long as someone does QUICKLY. A tight (ish) corset, even long line bra etc, can be real hell at the end of long evening!

good luck to all the brides here......Mary
