we had our first appointment at the venue today! only 6 monthsi-sh to go! :O We've sorted table arrangements, hotel rooms, negotiated extra flowers and candles, and sorted all the timings out
We can now send out the invites! Super SUPER excited, and our wedding co-ordinator is totally amazing!

Thats great news Teresa! I cant wait to go back to our venue and see the coordinator when we get home - it was new when we booked they hadn't even had a wedding but I have heard loads of brilliant reviews since so not nervous just excited!
first lot of invites all sent out and had most of the RSVPS back (and the deadlines not til 10th Nov!) 2nd lot are being posted tomorrow morning :) its all falling into place and its exactly 7 months for me today eeeeeeeek! :)
Today I saw someone else about the cake....was feeling very nervous about the first person who was going to do it - very vague and noncommittal! Then I found out an old school friend does them, she came round, had lots of ideas, researched the theme and showed me some designs - I think she will be a winner! And we're back in touch after almost 30 years! lol!

Hello fellow May brides!! Almost 6 month until my wedding.......eeeekkk!! I keep thinking I have loads of time and putting off some planning until after Christmas, then I panic and think I should be doing it all now!! The closer it gets the more I realise how many little small things there is to think about/plan.
Still haven't sorted my cake, was chatting to family about it over the weekend and I'm half tempted to get one layer of iced fuit cake to cut then buying lots of different flavoured cakes from a bakery and having them all laid out so guests have a choice!! Works out less expensive too.
Does anyone know of anyone who has done this? x

Amy I know what you mean! Im not back in the UK until the new year so I just keep going over and over everything i need to do when I get back in my mind! I feel like all those things are going to take over my life soon haha!
I think the cake idea will work great, I haven't seen it in real life myself but I have read a lot of people on here having a cutting cake for show and then cupcakes, fondant fancies lots of things for guests to help themselves to. Although I think it would be a good idea to pre-order the individual cakes from the bakery in advance just in case they don't have what you want in/enough of each one...

May is getting closer!!! I'm right at the end of the month on the 30th, so will be one of the last from this group.. It's going to be strange seeing your dates come and go and know that mine is on its way.

How is everyone's planning coming along?
We've been ultra busy! Invitations are ordered, due to arrive in a couple of weeks.
Bridesmaid dresses finally sorted, and all were happy with them!
He has an appointment for suits this weekend.
Tomorrow we have a jeweller appointment to order the rings. And this evening we met with a fantastic lady who will do the bouquets and button holes. She even gave me a mock bouquet (supermarket bought small scale just as an idea of colours)

Glad to hear your plans are coming along well!
I am trying not to panic, I booked/organised the main things a few months ago so have had a bit of a break. But still to do is -
Get bridesmaids shoes so I can get the length altered. Get their accessories Get flowergirl dresses & shoes etc Book/sort wedding cake Buy rings Buy/sort wedding decor & centrepieces Get my shoes, veil & accessories Meet with stationer and design invites & rest of stationery (need to do this asap!!) Ring the minister and arrange marriage guidance meetings, time of wedding etc Book pre wedding shoot Book hair & make up trials Get travel insurance and fiance needs new passport Pay off everything else!
There are a few wee other bits and bobs but come January I'll steamroll it lol
P.S. Your flowers are gorgeous!! Mine are cream and purple too although the purple will be thistle and not having roses, more scented stock and peonies and wildflowers. x

yes i can understand why Leasa, it not long at all to go, considering i started planning nearly 2 years ago, time has flown by, i cant believe we are finally in the year we are going to say "i do" or whatever anyone will say lol!
ive been mega busy over the last few months so, i haven't had time to plan, now i know im in to the major countdown months, i need to re focus and get a move on, Main thing is getting our damn invites out, we really do need to sort this, we have been gar to laid back, now we need to get moving :)exciting times.

OMG! my H2B decided today that he wasn't sure on the invites that we had designed so far up till now, so we are having to re design them! i liked the pocket fold design, he however is liking some sort of concertina fold effect (im not so keen) although he is the designer so im kinda having to go with his choice as he is good at what he does, i just need him to do a visual for me so i can see what he means,I cant visualise the designs without a sample, just when i thought we were getting somewhere too! arghhhhhh!

Hi ladies, been so busy lately with Christmas and everything, noiw that's over I'm starting to panic that we have lots to do!
Still need to book DJ, sort out cake, sort suits, rings, send out invitations and sort our hair and make up. Really going to crack down in the next few weeks and get these sorted. Half the invites are made, we were just waiting for the finalized menu before sending them out. Flowers are all sorted, bridesmaid dresses have arrived and look amazing.my dress is in as well. Hen do and stag do sorted as well. Need to go through the lists and look at what's needed by when.
Hope the rest of you may brides aren't as panicky as me!

You've got loads done, but like you (as we have the exact same amount of time to do it in) I've got to get a move on.
My dress is in, but not seen it yet. I've got all accessories except veil. (Shoes, underwear, jewellery). Bridesmaid dresses will be ready next month. We've chosen flower girl and page boy outfits just need to get their measurements to order. Ordered rings, flowers and booked in for hair and makeup. Invitations should arrive this week...eek. Guest list is done for day invites but the evening is still to be sorted. Had a review with our venue and will do a menu tasting in feb.
Still to do:
Cake (but we think we may have found the place just need to go see them) Dj Wine HIS OUTFIT (I can't believe he's left it so long) Not sorted hen/stag either but we've got a few ideas Need to see our venue dresser to finalise centre pieces etc. Favours

I really need to come on this thread more often. I'm more of less done now; just paying for things. So far; everything is booked and the venue,Photographer, rings and photobooth are paid for. Also paying off the honeymoon in a week or two :)

we are getting much more organised now, thank goodness, we have worked through lots this last few weeks :)
invites have been designed, going to our venue next Sunday to talk about the menu, then we can send the invites to print, then finally send them out! :)
favour boxes,table place names and table names have been designed too! phew :)
going shopping for eldest bridesmaid dress next Friday and mother of the bride outfit on sat :)
so getting closer to tying up lots of stuff ;)

Thanks Leasa - so nice to hear we seem to be at the same pace bar one or 2 little things - made me feel much better.
We've sent our all our day invites over the last 2 weeks, so I've relaxed a little since my last post. Also booked a DJ and paid deposit, actually saved money on the DJ which is great. Went ring shopping this morning, but looking into things about more re: budget and type. Hopefully order them soon. H2b has organised suit fitting for 2 weeks time and we are going wine shopping with my parents next Sunday. Have been more wedding orientated in the last few weeks thank goodness.
Also met our vicar last week and went through the service and booked our next meeting and rehearsal.
I plan to get the rings sorted and the cake in the next few weeks. Also need to make evening invites but need to order more materials. Feeling much better now but need to make a to do list.

Great news leasa about your rings and booking the DJ.
We've been getting rsvps too, my parents have rung nearly every day recently telling me they've received them. Ive sent them a spreadsheet to update for me and they will keep the originals to pass to us as well.
Might have my bridal shoes...my mum rung yesterday as she was in Mr Lewis's shop and there was a sale on bridal shoes. She found a pair she thought I'd like and grabbed my size before ringing me to look at them online. They looked nice but its hard to tell for definite how they look on pic alone. They said she could return them and gave her a gift receipt even tho they were a sale item. Can't wait to see them next week and try them on *fingers crossed* they're the ones!

Fingers crossed, hope they are the ones! sounds like your mum is getting excited for you too. I'm sure my mum would have been doing the same (worse even, I'm sure she'd have tried to take over completely if she was still with us).
All the rsvps are coming directly to us, my dad said he'd prefer if we managed them ourselves.
Meeting with the venue dresser went well too, our centre pieces are tall (giant) martini glasses filled with white and purple flowers. The base is a mirror plate with scattered crystals accross the table.
My grandad has been phoning me almost daily too to ask questions about everything from parking to somewhere to get changed, so I booked him and my nan a room at the venue. They live near Birmingham and are pulling out all the stops to be there. (We're in central London)

had a very busy weekend, its been great ticking things off though, we have got my chief bridesmaid her dress (cost a small fortune but its beautiful and she looks stunning)Also got shoes and tiara for her :) really pleased.
got my mum her mother of the bride outfit yesterday, she looks lovely in it :) she is walking me down the isle so, its important that she feels a million dollars too!
also manage to get some of the grooms men gifts too! so another job done.
And finally, today we went to our venue and decided on our menu, so we can finally finish off the invites and get them printed :) yay! cant wait to get them out and get some r.s.v.p back
im so excited :) its all coming together.

we have done a few more bits now too! MrsMalin2b im the 15th of may so quite close to you ;)
we have been to the venue and sorted the menu, sent the invites off to print, they should be done by the end of next week :) i cant wait to see them :) well we have to make them first, we have ordered table trivia cards, to help keep people entertained and give them stuff to chat about for a bit of fun, got chief bridesmaids dress,shoes and tiara, got mother of the bride outfit all sorted, oh and the best bit, i got some gorgeous new sparkly shoes from K4r3n M1ll4n reduced from £110 to £40 im so excited about them, they are gorgeous :)
