    i have decided 2 make my own wedding cake, im havin cupcakes with buttercream piped on snd edible glitter sprinkled over, simple yet nice!
    im havin a small cake on top to cut and am doin my own cake topper, my question is wot can i use 2 hold the topper 2gether, as a centre?

    I'm making my own cake topper too out of fimo clay. Had a few attempts and getting better....by the wedding it should be ok! We are sticking it to the cake with sugar paste. xx

    im using beads on wire, and sugarpaste shapes (hearts and stars) on wire so need something 4 all the wires 2 go in 2 xxx

    When I made one for my parents golden anniversary I taped the topper bits into place using florists tape winding and adding as you go and then I got a kind of plastic nozzle from the cake decorators which you insert into the cake so it does not show and sit the topper in that so it look like it is exploding out of the cake. It was a little fiddly but incredibly effective. Can ask if they have a special name if that would help?

    I made my topper out of fimo too and I'm quite proud of it really!

    they're called posy picks ryhope17. A straw cut to the height of the cake would do the same thing, depending on how many wires you have get the thinnest straw you can! DO NOT poke wires directly into your cake - food hazard warning of the day!

    the other option if you do want to shove them straight into your cake is to cover the wires in melted chocolate and let it dry. Just make sure youdon't sit sucking the chocolate off the wires after, Most wires are ok nowadays, BUT there are some that contain chemical nasties so I'd err on the side of caution!

    We were going to make ours don't you just do it out of sugar icing???
