Hi all just wondered whether you'd have a lace up back or zip with the detail on my dress?

I like it the way it is :) But then again, I couldn't really imagine how it would lace up unless I saw a picture to compare (very poor imagination)!

It depends really how the lace up would be designed into the back of the dress. Mine is a zip back with button detail and I was offered to make it lace up. Considered it for a while as when thinking about how clothing sometimes expand the longer you wear it and starts to fall down this could be adjusted throughout the evening. The I thought I am likely to be wearing a corset under mine so if need's be, just let it out a bit.

Definitely zip up. Then I really am not a fan of lace ups at all so I've gone for a zip up with lace buttons all the way from my neck to the bottom of my train. It is all down to what you'd prefer though xx

I on the other hand love lace up dresses - i think they can be more practical as well as you can let it out during the day! if you want to keep the detailing together a zip would be better - but lace up may add more to the image! well im not much help really... lol! xxx

Thank you for your comments. I'd love to see the dress lace up at the side of a zip up so then I could see what it looks like. Hmmm decisions decisions lol x

I am also a big fan of lace up. They add to patterns / detailing I think, plus the benefit of being able to alter it during the day is a big bonus for me. I prefer how they help to shape your body also.

Obviously these aren't the same as your dress but it will give you some idea of what lace up dresses look like with detailing on the back :) you wouldn't lose any of the detailing on yours by making it lace up, the detailing would just be moved xxx

The first photo is half lace up half zip, so maybe you would prefer that, best of both worlds! Xxx

it would look nice either way, but I tried on a dress with beading detail like that, but it was lace up and it looked gorgeous around the lace :)
