It may seem like a lot but you can get the dress on so you're half way there. You have time, and there's nothing with your dress that some exercise, diet, and alterations can't fix.

if you want to lose the weight then give 123 diet a go its easy to lose a dress size in 10 months and most lose 2!! its been my saviour and no punishments if you slip up one day you just add 3 days to your stage and it will be fine!! i totally recommend it aqnd its worked for me when NOTHING HAS. google terri-anne 123 and see you what you think theres a great online forum that really helps you understand it and stick to it. if you dont want to diet then try taking it to a dress maker to put and extra panel in it? i am nearly 2 dress sizes down over 1 and half stone lighter and ive been doing 123 since mid september started at 15 stone 10 now down to 14 stone 3 and still going ! but obviously off the wagon on the wedding day but back on after ready for honey moon!

One BIG day will lead to lots of little happy days !!

Laura could you email me the details of the 123 - like what are the recipes like? I'm always skeptical when it comes to diets that seem really good lol, atm I'm just going to the gym and calorie counting.

OP I'm sure you'll be able to shift the weight you want, plenty of time :) I don't know what your dress is like but say you were still a couple of inches off you maybe could get the modesty panel & laces extended? :)

Wedding dresses are always smaller than the size they say...My dress is a wedding size 12 and I'm an 8-10 so if ur dress is a 14, that means it's actually more of a size 12 in normal clothes sizing, that's probably why it feels really small x

With your baby being so young you shouldn't worry, it takes 9months to make a baby so give yourself 9 months to lose some! I mantra-ed this with mine,it works, I find eating normally, and drinking lots of water helps! I've lost 6lbs in 3 weeks just by cutting out fizzy drinks and replacing with more water x

There has just been an artical in a magazine about a woman who was 19st had no money or time for gym so used her house for work out, she ran up and down the stairs, back and forth along the passage way, did star jumps, sit ups using the settee to place her feet under and also tins of beans as weights and lost 10 stone in 2 and a half year x

The thing with diet fizzy drinks is that they replace the sugar with additives which are just as bad! Definitely cut down on those and you'll notice a difference straight away, I'm not saying that's all but it's a good starting point. I find I sleep better too so stops snacking later on at night x

healthy weight loss is 2 pounds a week which is pretty easy to do - you will probably lose more at the beginning. you have 40 weeks until your wedding. thats a potential of 80 pounds (5.5 stone!) that you can lose in total - which is of course wayyy to much weight to lose but its shows you that its not that hard to do. of course you can do it! dont think i have to lose all this weight - just think i need to lose 2 pound a week. swap fizzy drinks for water. cut out chips and processed meals they are full of rubbish. you dont need to change much to make a difference. i have lost just over 3 stone without doing any exercise at all and that was before getting engaged with no weddigng motivation at all. if you really want to get in that dress you can do it. have faith in yourself :) x

Depending on your weight you may be able to get help from your G.P. as well, which will give you the support of a dietician without having to pay the costs of SW or WW. When I saw my G.P. I weighed 12 stone 1, which at a height of 5'2" was enough to class me as obese, although I didn't feel like I was anything other than a bit overweight. I was referred to a dietician who worked out that 1600 calories a day would produce a healthy weight loss, and created a suggested eating plan that would mean I didn't get hungry, and had a balanced diet without having to miss out on treats. I also got put into an eight week class that covered lots of useful topics, such as showing us portion sizes and talking about exercise. I was also put on orlistat for a while, which is great for giving a kick start as it can increase your weight loss by 50% by limiting the amount of fat that you can absorb. You just have to be careful not to have a lot of fat in your diet, or you will be dashing for the loo. It's not a long term fix, but can really help with the motivation because you see faster results. If your weight gives you a Body Mass Index of more than 30 your G.P. will help. Google BMI calculator to work yours out (you just need to know your height and weight in metric measurements), or ask your G.P. to work it out for you.

You could easily fit in it by your wedding day! If you have 10 months, just think, if you lost 1 pound a week thats a total of 40 pound! Thats almost 3 stone and easily a dress size.

Don't focus too much on a 'diet'. Change your eating habits to healthier. I am also at slimming world but I do not follow it 100% as I do not look at it as a diet more of a lifestyle change.

Also excercise excercise exercise! Take your baby out on longgggggggggggg walks. Aim to get sweaty once a day and you will soon see a difference!

Don't worry Hun, you have lots of time to drop a dress size. Look at it as being healthier rather than 'dieting'. Have you thought about trying a vegetarian diet? You will cut out so much fat purely by taking out meat from your diet... Or you could try filling up on fruit and veg. Good luck Hun, you'll get lots of support on here :) xx

I am 13 stone but i have been walking alot recently and lost 10lbs over a few months with out making too many diet changes. I have been bad the last few weeks and been eating out alot but that will be getting stopped now. Start going for short walks and then increasing the distance. Also make veggie soup....you can eat alot which will fill you up but with out all the calories xx

There is no need to cry or give up hope , you still have time and can fit into the dress. Have you tried proper exercise with a good diet, i would recommend the juice diet - juicing up spinach , cucumbers, ginger , green apples , celery & orange , best part is that it tastes good and works wonders!

Have a chat with your G.P. Roxanne. They'll be very supportive and it won't cost in the way some diet programmes do. Doctors prefer people to come in early when they feel like they're overweight, because it means they can help you to get your weight down before it starts causing health problems. I lost about 3 stone in around eight months, and went from a size 14 to a size 10. You'll be fine, don't panic.

    Oh hun don't fret.

With your little one still so young, I know this sounds nuts but many ladies I know say the quickest easy way to lose weight post baby is to breast feed. Apparently it's like running at least 5 miles a day then with a healthy diet the pounds drop off.

Gentle exercise is also a good start. You can lose it xxx

hi, dont give up as it can be done.take one day at a time, dont fret over any slip ups, just star the next day as the first day... i did sl1mm1ing w0rld and lost 3 stone.and did zumba .....but then met my h2b and put it all back on !!!!!!!!!!!. i got complacient and also the money was an issue...i got my dress a year ago and it fitted perfectly but tried it on again recently and heartbroken that it now doesnt :(
i have now so signed up to ww via the doctors and due to my weight & height i have qualified for 12 free weeks.. i couldnt afford to pay for classes for either ww or sw, so this has been a blessing... so tomorrow is the first class. ..
see if there is something similar in your area, it was only through a friend that i heard of this scheme. xx
