I know its now more of an american thing now, but apparently it was once also the done thing over here so I was just wondering if anyone was going to go 'old school' and order a groom's cake?
Tempted to for my OH but he doesn't really like cake so would be a bit of a waste... unless it the tractor cake his Mum used to make for him as a kid, and a few times since he's been an adult, he generally doesn't have any.

Never heard of it but hubby had most of the input into our wedding cake anyway. He was like a kid in a sweet shop picking the shape and decoration.

Ooohh I like the idea of having one the night before - I might ask his Mum to do one for him, his immediate family and his boys to enjoy whilst I'm at the hotel stressing over the table plan/excitedly bouncing off the walls.

We're having a traditional cake (chosen & decorated by me) and a grooms cake, which is basically a giant round Cornish pasty - he prefers savoury so suits him to a t.

I offered mine a grooms cake as I have designed the whole wedding one myself - he said he didn't care enough to pay the money lol
