I keep seeing all these themes like vintage, traditional, country ect and think what's mine? I think I'm scared to set on a theme and get things incase I decide I don't like them. How did u guys pick ur themes/ decorations? I'm worried mine will look like a jumble sale and not match up and just look stupid :( I like the white/ rustic look but not enough to go all out. I just haven't a clue what I'm doing :( and can't seem to picture it x

Emma what is your wedding theme and go from then you can incorporate your wedding theme in your venue decor I knew what I wanted straight away and have stuck to my theme since the beginning this is the first time I've not been indecisive in my whole life and I have decided and settle on things straight away just clicked in to place =D ♥ X

yup agree with linzi. I wanted quintessentially english vintagey theme. But both our 2 possible venues have very rich decor on the inside so we're not having a theme or a colour scheme anymore! Just gona let the venue do all the impressing! You've got a long time to think about it yet xx

I started my theme with a colour and thn went from there ... Then me & H2B had a bit of a brainwave by incorporating things we both liked and therefore have gone with Betty Boop & Poker/Playing cards. .... I think most of our guests will expect us to have gone for a football theme though as we both watch and play lol.

Perhaps you could incorporate 2 things you like?

We don't really have a theme either .
Started with colours and happened to buy a butterfly hole punch thing and used it on invites - then noticed other things I liked came in butterfly design so kind of have a loose butterfly thing going on.
Look through magazines or online for things you may like to buy and get an idea of the style that you seem drawn to x

I don't think you need a theme at all. Just choose a colour you both like and go from there.

We don't have a theme, just a colour scheme :-) Aslong as things look good together, you don't need to label it as a theme xxx

Dont worry over it, what's "in fashion" now and making brides sway towards it will be different in a year or so's time.
    Sometimes themes just happen.
Go to a few wedding fairs, have a look at what takes your fancy. Go to open days at venues (regardless if the venue is for you or not)
Colours you like, the season you are getting married in? Take inspiration from your personalities.

We haven't got a theme but our colours are silver and blues. Our day is relaxed and one of my friends kids described it as a fair when we told him there would be a bouncy castle, popcorn, candy-floss.

Have fun looking around and viewing things.

We have taken into account our venue style for decoration and theme. Originally we wanted a pub wedding but the venue we went for in the end is a deco hotel so our theme has changed from rustic country wedding to a sophisticated city do. Look around your venue and style of dress etc... these will lend themselves to your overall theme and decoration.

In terms of venue decoration I've just gone for simple things I like/look good.
Mixing vintage with shabby chic & modern too - don't care about a theme other than it fits in with the colour scheme & just 'feels right' x

I had no idea at all apart from the colour scheme and that there would be some Chinese lanterns hung up. I basically let the lady we chose to be the venue dresser to make suggestions and she has come up with amazing ideas amd we've gone with them. Advice from the professionals is always good xxx
