I'm hopefully putting deposit down on ' the dress' this Friday but don't want anyone knowing what the dress is like ( except my mum and moh as they will be with me) so my question is how do I tell people I'm not saying without them feeling offended?? Esp the In laws as I know they'll hate the fact they don't know n will moan about me keeping it a secret x

The only people who know what my dress is like is my step mum who came with me and a friend who saw dress by accident lol

When in laws and others ask I just say I want it to be surprise until the day, once I have said that everyone has been fine :) my mil did try asking questions about other stuff related to dress like veil and I just smiled and said I want to see everyone's reaction when they see me all ready on the big rather than half ready before then lol

Just say you want to wait until day to show everyone x

People shouldn't be asking you how much you paid for your dress. Now that, is rude! With regards to keeping the dress itself a secret, I would say I want to keep it a surprise for everyone until the big day, or use the excuse of you don't want hubby to find out anything about it. X

My in laws will ask as they seem to ask about price of everything ( they think they r only ones who have money issues!!) and like to judge! And there is no way I want them or anyone knowing price of my dress til at least afterwards lol. Just guna have to make sure I dont get caught up talking about it lol although I know explaining it does it no justice lol. X

I'm planning to hide my wedding dress at my mohs or my fmil's place. I will be living with my OH and want it to be keep safe. About prices, just tell them you didn't have to break to pay for it. :p

Just say it's a surprise and you're not telling anyone. I got annoyed with some people asking me and making out they had a right to know. I just made it clear I didn't want anyone knowing until they see me walking down the aisle.

Im not telling anyone either and the people who know are who were with me I will also take my MOH and my other bridesmaid to see it but that's it. People have said oh so do have the dress and they have said wow great not asked any detail or the price, I would say if anyone asked the price its none of their business and the dress is a surprise xx

Just tell them you don't want anyone knowing what it is like until the day. I hsowed a few people, but then got annoyed as someone showed it to someone else without asking me, it was not even on fbook, it was via a text message.

Surely no one should even expect to be told what your dress is like?! Most people like to keep it a surprise for the day - surely they will understand that x

Unfortunately there's always one who feels entitled to know plus thinks they can also dictate elements of your wedding day, the same girl who kept trying to push me for details of my dress insisted on having a plus one and brought her best friend to my Hen party without asking, she just told my sister and best mate she was bringing her!

I know. People have no boundaries and they're normally selfish and self centered. Plus no respect for others.

I shared a photo with my chief BM, two of my other friends were desperate to see but I know what they are like and it wouldn't be long before all my friends knew too. So poor chief BM had to delete the photo from her phone as people were trying to snoop :(

I just used to say "ooh you'll have to wait and see, I'm giving nothing away". It's not rude, far from it. It's a nice surprise if anything.

Thankfully nobody has asked to see mine yet as I think they realise it is supposed to be a secret. If anybody does ask I think I would say what claire said above, that it the best way to tell people and it doesn't sound rude :) x

I've got a cousin that keeps going on and on about how she's the favourite cousin and how she should see the dress before the big day but I'm not playing ball as I'm just flippant back saying well I have shown my favourite cousin the dress and he loves it! I haven't but it's fun to toy ;) Seriously though, the only ones who have seen my dress are my OH, bridal party, Mum's and my Grandma i.e. the important ones!

when it comes to he price just say that you can't believe that you found your dream dress at the price you did. You just weren't expecting to pay THAT much for your wedding dress and say nothing more. they won't know if you paid over the odds or if you got a bargain basement discount but it will shut them up and you get to answer the question without being rude xx

Lol. I wouldn't show anyone, not even those not invited. Only the VIPs knew, my mum, sister and best mate and the shop owner. My dad saw a picture.
