I'm getting married Sept 2011 but have already fallen in love with one particular dress. I've booked an appointment for Sat 17th April to try it on (as well as others).
I first saw it in the directory part of one of the many bridal magazines that I've got and ever since, any other dress I see I always compare to this one. It's by Naomi Neoh who only have about 3 stockists in the country (luckily there's one in Essex!) so I figured I should go try it on just to see - it may turn out that I hate it so I can forget about it and try different ones.
I've got a gut feeling that it may be "The One" though and if it is then I'm going to order it now.
Is this too early?? How far in advance did you have your first appointment?
Generally once I like something, I like it forever (pretty much!) but there's a little part of me that's worried I'll love it now, order it then come closer the time I'll decide "actually, I want something else!"
Do you still love your wedding dress a few months down the line? Is it still "The One"???

I can't comment about still loving your wedding dress afew months down the line as I don't have mine yet. But I do fall in love with items of clothing to which nothing ever lives up to it. In fact I fell in love with a pair of shoes, said no (which is a rarity) but saw them a year later and still really wanted them. So if you are like that (and its sounds like you are) I would go for it. Make sure you take some extra eyes when you try it on though...just in case

I wish I was as enthusiastic about my dress. I can honestly say I havn't even looked at one. Is that bizzare? I have planned everything down to invites, chose the bridesmaid dresses and table decorations, cake, flowers, venue. No dress.

I suffer from a stomach problem that my hospital are yet to diagnose. It seems to be settling but at its worst it made me put on 3 dress sizes in 2 days. I'v retained a massive amount of water and have gone from a 16/18 to a 20/22 in the past 6 months without any change in diet or exercise. Its VERY slowly coming off though and I am now on my wedding diet but I don't want to even look at dresses when I am this unhappy about my figure.

I'd go for it though. Especially if your happy with your figure. Why not?! xxx

That's some bad luck puddleduck. I really hope they get it sorted sooner rather than later. Just remember you are marrying someone who loves you regardless of your figure and to them you would look gorgeous in a bin liner!

Very true Kat - the H2B should love you no matter what your size, shape, lumps or bumps.

I guess the only reason I'm trying this dress on so early is because I'm worried I'll leave it till closer the time and then not find any dress like it and that one won't be available anymore. I'd be kicking myself!!

Oh and Kat - do you have a style in mind for your dress? I only ask because how else did you pick the bridesmaids dresses??

I always worry about leaving outfits too late. I will be definitely looking for my dress about the time you are now. If the dress makes you feel amazing that's all that really matters (that and maybe the price tag lol)

If your happy with the dress buy it-i still look at pics of my dress everyday and love it (pics on profile) One thing i will say is, once you've bought your dress STOP LOOKING!!! lol x

Im getting wed June 2012, found my dress, fell in love with it and purchased it, along with a very similar bridesmaid gown (my step daughter will be 20 so didnt want her looking like a child bridesmaid) I got both dresses a size bigger, that way if we get more lumps n bumps (which i doubt she will, more likely just to be me...lol) they will fit,
or if I lose a drastic amount of weight (hmmmm, hold that thought as a wild dream!) i can get mine taken in!
I agree with Nicci 100%....If u still love the dress when u have ur fitting - BUY IT and then STOP LOOKING! x

i am getting married in august 2011, i tried my dress on in february, it was not what i had planned at all, totally the opposite, knew it was the one, and fell in love with it, i am in the process of saving for the deposit but as soon as i have that i am ordering it, i am not going to mess around looking for others as this is definitely "the one" x

emma21085 Im in exactly the same predicament! There is a dress I am in love with and I too think it maybe THE ONE!
I haven't tried it (or any) on yet but all the dress I see dont compare!
I have some appointments booked for next sat at a couple of bridal boutiques in Harrogate and I am very excited, although neither have the dress in question.
So I have decided to go open minded as I have no idea of what will suit me and if I do suit a dress in a similar style I am going to hunt my dream dress down and buy it!!!

Is it a new line? If so, you could perhaps wait a few months to be sure. If not, then I would get it now just in case

Thanks everyone. I am sooo excited about going to try it on. Once I love something my opinion doesn't tend to change, and it goes perfectly with our English country garden theme. My mum has already got the money to pay for it as well, I will have to be disclipined and not look at any others if it does turn out to be The One!!

To be honest emma you probably wont bother looking at others...I certainly havent (well, apart from the girls dresses on his site). I got a great peace of mind after paying deposit for mine, knowing that it was picked and sorted. I drew attentions else where straight afterwards...picking flowers, shoes etc Defo try it on...itll keep playing on your mind otherwise...good luck xxx
