Hi, I dont know if its just me but I'm getting married in November this year and I've done just about everything. My dress is due to be ready in June/July. My cake has been ordered, DJ booked last night, Photographer booked last Friday, BMs outfits are complete and so is mine apart from the shoes (had some, changed my mind now I gotta get some more lol) Venue booked, caterers booked and Invites are in the process of being sent out. I've even got a timeline of what needs to happen, when and how much. (cant help that last bit as I've got OCD lol)
As my H2B is very disorganized, I have left him and the best man the duties of getting their suits, the transport (I'm still heavily involved with this lol), the rings and the honeymoon. Thats all hes got to do.
How many other brides have basically taken on everything just to make sure its done well before the wedding?

ive sorted out the church and reception just need to pay them now. my mil and fil are doing the flowers, cake, flavour boxes, invations. i have sorted out the dj. and h2b has chosen his suits for the boys. i need to sort out the dresses and things to go with them. the only downside is that i have had to cancel my tattoo appiontment :-( as cant afford £300 ontop of wedding so waiting till we get back from honey moon. but you seemed to of done everything Wren well done xxx

Wren .. well done! you sound like me!! OCD lol I'm not getting married til next July and I'm already pretty well on my way to getting all the little bits and bobs, rings, save the date cards, sweetie table containers, guest book, cupcake stand ... I feel like I should slow down a wee bit though or I'll have it all done before this year is out!! lol I hate not being organised though and would find it too stressful leaving everything to the last minute xxx
I'e booked most things Church, hall, food, disco. table decerations, photo's, hair and make up.... need to do dress and flower girls and bridesmaid groom etc rings invites. gosh thought i was doing well but when you start to think about it theres still loads to do.. plus need to go to sons wedding in mexico in sept so outfit etc to sort out for that to xx

Were not getting married till June 2011 and were almoast done. Venue, registra, food, reception, flowers, transport, cake, dress, wedding staionary, rings, bridesmaids/flower girl dresses and hair and make-up are all booked and payed for! Just got to sort h2bs suits and decor :) We also have our favours sorted x

im just about the same as u wren, just got to pay for it al now ive got deposits everywhere thankgod i also have very talented friends ie hair and makeup artists and shes a photograher, singers 2 of one is my best friend she is singing our first dance song then my mate simon who is a reggae singer he is doing 2 hours then between all that there is a dj dont know him he better be good im assured that he is ? as they make the reception i think , i have indian belly dancers who is also one of my good friends troop, casino company i dont know but been chatting to them lots and feel i know them so well lol , there is just one thing and thats my flowers and my h2b button hole il leave that to nearer the time , im getting married abroad but want some flowers just for my photos over here x omg i so sound like bridezilla dont i lol x

I am all set to go, everything paid for! Only problem im having now is losing the weight ive put on to get back into my dress!lol But im on my way as have lost 8lb in 2 weeks! Woohoo ;o) So Wren u r not alone hun! We are just organised brides. The only thing I have absolutely no control over is my wedding car which my Dad is doing!x

all we've done so far is pick venue, book registrar and shortlist some photographers. i've initiated most things but i keep giving edd things to do, like he called the registrar just because i dont to do everything i want it to be his day too. i dont think we would get anywhere if i didnt initiate it tho lol
oh and my mums booked the hairdresser who is a family friend and she's also going to book the cars. i find giving her jobs to do stops her from trying to take over!

The only things we havent got yet are bms dresses (waiting for the summer season) ushers suits - waiting until next year as theyre all "working out" lol, and the odds n ends really. Main stuff is all organised tho :) xx

I'm incredibly OCD'd about things and wouldn't feel comfortable letting someone else do it for me... infact the though of it gives me a panick attack lol!
I've done everything myself and wouldn't have it any other way lol :)

not getting married till may next year, my invites are done as made them myself, church booked, flowers booked, venue booked, my dress is being order end of the year as am paying for it at the mo, BM dresses are sorted just got to buy the material and pattern, got all the tiaras etc.., done my shoes, car booked, dj booked, we booked our chocolate fountain today, got half the thank u gifts, know where we qare getting the suits from, photographer sorted and videographer, favours done, table plan done as much as possible, cake sorted, rings sourced, hair and makeup is booked so apart from paying for everything just have a few finshing touches to sot out xx

Good god! Your getting married a couple of weeks after me wren; i'm not at all organised.
I've got the venue booked, the caterer is done, met our florist yesterday, sent our invitations. I have my shoes and our favours are all but sorted. My friend is making our cake so thats sorted i suppose. Ohh and the registrar :)
Still have my dress, my bm's dresses, suits for the men, rings, photographer, hair and make up, dj and thankyou gifts (which i may do in a minute) Still need to do room plans (for the rooms in the house for 24 family) and god knows what else :( *stress*

ive got to do: pay off suits, ordered but not finalised or paid in full, buy ring im just waiting on h2b making his mind up!, buy bm dress but need to wait till aug as bm wants to loose as much weight as possible and buy my daughter shoes but cant do this till last min as her feet will grow
only been planning since 15th jan this year!

I'm really organised my H2B is demented with me. I have spreadsheets for absolutely everything and I'm not joking even down to what clothes we need for honeymoon!! The only thing I have to do is get my notice of Marriage which I can't do until 3months before and even thats killing me I have all the forms etc completed just to be sent away on the 23rd April lol!! xx

I really wanna get going, but quite a bit I can't really do yet. Pete thinks it's funny how much effort I've been putting into looking for paper! lol Well actually I'm looking for card for my invites, I can put those together now and add bits later hehe. I've got soooo many catalogues, brochures and quotes but most things are just guestimates because companies don't wanna be tied down to a price so far in advance..... Cx

I have booked the registrar, booked the venue, the photographer, ordered the flowers, picked my dress, shoes, underwear, tiara, veil and jewellery, ordered my ring cushion, picked the mens suits, started ordering hair slides and pins for the bridesmaids, and alice bands for the flower girls, table confetti, started sorting the invitations, still 16 months to go before the day, it all just seemed to fall into place, maybe something will go wrong, as all i really need to sort is the cake and the bridesmaid dresses :)x

I'm not too bad - only got engaged in December, but done everything bar bridesmaids shoes and bags, my jewellery (I'm not going to have much anyway) and the cake stand.
H2B only has to sort out the mens outfits and STILL hasn't ordered it, even though we've decided!!! Men...

Well for us we're halfway there LOL.
I've got my shoes, veil, tiara, thank you cards, invite cards, heart confetti, underskirt, corset, garter, vows written, stockings, music picked out.
Have the design of my dress as well, just need to get it ordered :D
We've decided on Venue, Officiator, Flowers (wooden roses) & our Photographer as well, we have our reception sorted out, the buffet will done by me & my sisters-in-law to be & also our cake & centre pieces are being done by my dad's GF & both my mym & dad are helping with our mini-honeymoon at a local Hotel as well.
At the end of April we hope to have put down depsosits for our Venue & Officiator.
I've also bought 2 books for Adam; The Groom's manual & A guide on The Bridegroom's Speech so he gets things to look at & plan as well.

I totally agree with Tiggs & Glen Put deposits down asap. doesnt matter if its 3 months or 2 years before. If they cant book events too far in advance then book as soon as you can. I'm glad I'm not as insane as what i thought i was. Leigh was going mental because i've got little books everywhere for the wedding. ripped paper with adverts, number, details etc on them. I left him with transport, rings, guys suits and honeymoon to sort out and I've started itching on sorting the transport out for him. I find myself looking at cars and stuff. have to hold off and trust him that i wont be walking to my wedding lol
