It's not a case of what a reasonable budget it, but more what YOUR budget is. My dress was meant to be £1500 however I knew someone who worked with the store and she got me a discount so cost me £950, and was also able to pay in installments which made it easier.

"reasonable" is based on individual financial situations ...

i had two dresses one cost me £35 to have made fore me the other £230 ( down from £1500 with a sale then a bit of haggling)

It really depends on your budget. One of my favourites was £2,010! If I hadn't found a new favourite after that I would have paid it. The new, better favourite is £100! That said, it's coming from china and I may hate it when it arrives!

but DH chose it in the end so who am I to argue with that :)

Mine was £1300 I tried on dresses ranging from £800 to £2000, it's all about how much are you able/willing to pay for the right dress.

If I'd have found the same dress to be more or less, I think I'd have paid whatever it was just to have this one!

It depends on what you can afford and are prepared to pay.

My dress was supposed to be £1500 but I got it for £999 because the boutique owner let me have the sample dress (it was a small size for a sample dress) as she'd just decided to stop selling that designer.

Set your budget and stick to it. You can pick up a dress for as little as £200 but at the top end can pay up to £25,000. Most brides I think pay anywhere from £800 to £2000.

Actually I'm using this wedding planning website, and they help you to distribute your budget lol When you say how much you want to spend on the whole wedding, it tells you how much you should spend on each thing. It told me that I could spend about £480, but then I thought it was too much and found this lovely dress around £200 :D

Deffantly depends on your budget, mine is £500. Dresses can be really really expensive. If you don't want to spend a lot go along to bridal shop designer days (you can get a designer dress fro a discount) or when the shop has sales you can get beautiful dresses for half the price in a sale :). Xx

Mine was £450, as it was a sample that the shop was selling. Otherwise it would have been £900. I did love one that was at least £3000, but I wanted more detail on the back than it gave me. It was stunning, and had I not found anything else I might have paid that, but I didn't want to spend that much as we wanted to keep money back to do up the house ready to sell and upsize.

My budget was around £1200 but the dress, veil and jewellery came to just over £1500 altogether. I'm having straps added to mine and got a small discount on the veil. I also tried on some very expensive dresses and some very cheap ones but the one I've chosen is 'middle of the road' in price and the shop have been fantastic. It pays to shop around :o)

My dress is £1500 ,I didn't want it to go over that price and keep going up , so I managed to bargain with them to give me a free veil, hoop and any alterations for free and she said she would give me a £100 off aswell as she had given some vouchers recently at a wedding fair.. Def ask as all shops are happy to do something to get the deal, its the shop who decides the price not the designer :)

Mine is 1250 without alterations, but the seamstress that the shop use told me it will be no more than £50, so £1300 all in. My veil is my something borrowed, so that saved some money.
The first dress that I thought I had fallen in love with (clearly not!) was only £625, but with all the alterations I wanted to do to make it more 'me' I was still looking to spend around £1000. I always said no more than £1000 for my dress but I utterly fell in love with my dress, it was the only one that made me cry x
