As the title suggests, I'm just curious how many shops you went in and tried dresses on before you found the one? I thought I've found the right dress for me, but now the cost of it is playing on my mind. My bridesmaids are taking me shopping on Monday to look in some other dress shops and H2B's mum also wants me shopping too when H2B is back. I'm just wondering how many shops is too many, or is there ever too many shops to look in? x

I only looked in one shop, but I went there twice and tried on 20+ dresses in the first appointment, went back to try 2 that I couldn't pick between, saw one on the manakin and asked to try it and that was the one I ended up ordering. Personally, I think you can go to too many shops. If you keep trying dresses on then you will end up forgetting what other ones looked liked. Personally I believe that when you've found your dress, you've found it and then should stop looking at any others xxx

I think it can go two ways, I think when you've found your dress you should stop looking.... but it doesn't sound like you've found your dress so keep looking, look in as many shops as you can, if you find THE dress you won't forget it and you'll be thinking about it when you try other dresses on and comparing them all to it.

Im the same as you BethanyS! I have been to one shop so far and thought Id found the one, but it was more than I wanted to pay. Its a Mori Lee dress. I was a bit disappointed in the first shop I went to as they didnt have much choice (they put loads of photos on their Facebook page of dresses they sell but when I went in I couldnt see any of the ones they had put on there, i.e all the ones I had been looking at!!)

So I've made an appointment to go to another shop this week as I've seen a similar Maggie Sottero dress for £600, which I love just as much (but havent tried it on yet), so we shall see.

I dont think I'll be going to anymore after the second shop though as I have a definate idea of what I want now.

I made 4 appointments, found my dress in the first shop (first dress actually) but made it around the other shops to be sure. I realised when I was comparing every dress to that one and them not matching up I had found it!

I think sometimes you can look at too many and forget what you liked??

I honestly love the dress so much, but its £800 with no alterations and alterations need to be done as the train is too long etc, so we are looking at near £1000, which for me is too much. The lady was lovely enough to say she'd email me if the dress went on sale as it is a 2013 style.

I feel I haven't given any shop a chance. The shop I went to is about 4 minutes from me, so I know I def wont forget the dress, but H2B's mum said a shop in Bradford does major discount dresses. H2B's step sister got her dress for £400 which was down from £2000! So I want to look in that shop, so I am ranging from 3-4 shops I think.

JR2015 - Maggie Sottero dresses are beautiful! x

I haven't been to any bridal shops at all. I tried one on at a wedding fair and knew that was the style I wanted, then looked in monsoon and tried one on, the bought my actual dress from ebay. The way I did it doesn't suit everyone though x

I visited 5 shops and a pop up wedding shop only tried on in 3 of those but must have tried on at least 25 dresses if you include high street shops that sell wedding dresses like tk and phase8 there's been a few I loved but chose one well within my budget due to the great care, price and service I got in the shop plus the reasonable alteration costs

I went to 2 shops and tried on about 20 dresses. turns out the fourth dress I tried was the one, £200 over my initial budget but I got it in the end.

I went to one shop, and the woman was really ignorant (she was more interested in people liking her faceb00k page than helping people). She also rudely suggested I bought a dress nearer the time (this was last September, and I get married this August). Anyway, I went in no more shops and bought my beautiful dress off the bay of E

6 shops before I found the one, I liked one in each shop that was the problem and some were MILES away so I had to do some trekking around to get to the one I loved, which ironically was two mins from home

I went into 1 shop and bought the 3rd dress I tried on, the first one I saw in the shop...I knew as soon as I saw it that it would be the one. And luckily it was in the sample sale at a third of the price!!xx

I tried on over 20 dresses across 4 different shops. The one was the 6th dress I tried on in the first shop. I just needed to make sure it was the one and that I wouldn't suddenly find another I preferred so held out until 20 odd dresses later nothing topped it.

I've been to two shops so far. First shop I fell in love with a gorgeous dress which is way out of my budget. Second shop I found two dresses that I really liked that are well in budget, but completely different to the first one!

I think it's like buying a house. The more you look the harder it is to make a decision. I've taken my Mum with me, but when I go back I'm taking two very good friends with me, at Mum's suggestion, as they can give a different opinion as they know me in a different way. It's difficult for me because I'm a bit of a tom boy and don't really do dresses, and suffer from a serious lack of confidence.

Oh Charlotte, I am the same! You would never see me dead in a dress and when I was little I always maintained that the only dress I would wear in my life would be my wedding dress! x

Lol Bethany :) I've been a nervous wreck before both shopping trips! My Mum has been very to the point about what suits and what doesn't. One more then I think it's time to make a decision :)

I'm exactly the same as you! I'm hoping it'll make a bigger effect with me in a wedding dress because nobody sees me in a dress often. x
