Most of them are a con. The only ones that really do work are the Alli but the pharmacy will only give them you if your BMI is over a certain level. Croc you seriously do not need anything and should learn to love that fab body of yours as I would love to have a body like that.

Oh also girls just a note. They work lets just say by getting rid of the fat but there is only one way the fat that you put in your body can come out and it isn't nice. You may need some spare pairs of pants!

I got tablets like that from my doc jo. The loss happens for the first wee while and then the side affect wears off so as long as you watch what you are eating and the amount of fat that goes into your body then you should be ok. If not the like jo says make sure you have spare pants. xx

They work in the fact that you are too scared to eat anything bad in case you cack your pants. Its like anything if you eat a good diet in the first place then there is no need for them. They do help you lose quicker if you are on a diet but I would see the doc about it if you are serious as he will give you a months supply for the price of a script rather than payingn god knows how much over the counter.

Lmao jo.... What a pretty thought.... Plastic pants would be better...washable/ wipe clean.....sorry didn't mean to lower the tone....lol

The ones iv bought are called loose it ....one day ...they are advertised as a legal "speed"....they basically boost metabolism increase body temperature, And an appetite surpresent..... So not as such a slimming pill...

The reason I'm trying them although I'm comfortable with my weight....is I'm not happy ...I'm not over weight but I am the heaviest I have ever been and my clothes are tight ....in the last year I have put on 1st and a half and if I carry on this way I will be over weight by next year....I want to loose the weight I have packed on over the last year... Basically being a greedy cow...

I eat very heathly, I don't over indulge, I don't really eat fatty foods ....I prob eat 1800 kcal a day... But iv managed to pile pounds on... I think because my metabolism has slowed down as I'm no longer active I can't go to the gym due to an operation I had a few years ago and was told no strenious excerise but the pain it's started up again grrrr ( prob because iv put weight on)... So taking
these to speed up my metabolism to help me burn more calories ..... Plus I also want to be comfortable in my wedding dress and it is a bit pinchy as I ordered it 10 mths ago when I was lighter

Not told h2b he will properly freak out ... But will need to I guess I just wanted peoples opinions 1st

I take GTF Chromium tablets every day after lunch - they aid the digestion of food rather than boost the metabolism and I've found that they do help my weight loss.

I can't do the gym either but I can (when I put my mind to it) lose weight by cutting down on what I eat. My doc said as I'm not active anymore I shouldn't be eating any more than 1500 a day so it sounds like you are still over eating by 300 cals a day if you are like me not active. Its so easy to do when you are not watching what you eat and I put on weight so easily as soon as I stop watching what I'm doing. You could always try light exercise too like sitting bouncing on a gym ball, walking in the pool etc. The physio told me if you sit and do nothing you stiffen up and then get secondary pains so its important to find things that your body can do so you don't let it go to waste as they need to be moved about. Gentle stretching exercises are good too.

Tis true Jo, every little counts - can't remember the name of the program, but recall watching something I think on BBC a few weeks back now and essentially just doing something as small as constantly jigging your leg while you're sat will burn off far more calories than just sitting still! The same program also showed that whenever you do any exercise, you burn off a small number of calories during the time you are exercising, but then continue to burn calories for up to 22 hours afterwards!

I bought a slendatone few weeks back, and its brilliant, really does work. My problem is i'm a snacker and when i'm in on my own at night you will find me in the kitchen!!! In January my dress was too tight, so i stopped eating junk for a few weeks tried it on again, and it fitted perfect.

Like you i can't exersise because of a bad back and bad knees, although i do walk every day for around an hour with the dog so that does help a lot as although not strenuous, its moving........Could you take up walking?? Gives you a lovely bum and legs....x

Next week after iv unpacked the house I think I'll sit on my gym ball and do some bouncing....

I've got a rare type of compartments syndrome.... It's where my fibres that connect my muscle to the bone has no elastin... So instead of gently pulling when muscle contract/ grow/ have pressure on.... My fibres rip away from the bone .... Causing horrendous pain... And I've notice since being a stone heavier that even walking to the shop half a mile my legs kill for about 2-3 days after....this is why I left the army as I couldn't run I could do my job just couldn't do fitness or go on tours...the amount of pain I was in excruciating and took the doctors 2 years to figure it out and was only by chance they found it... I had a huge operation where they decompressed my muscles in my shins and added fibres containing elastin in to my legs ... And was in a wheelchair for 3 months and crutches for a year.... Fab operation...but I weaned my self off painkillers eventually as I took them for about 3 years after the op as the pain was manageable ... And only 3 inch scars on each leg...But now my gosh it's started to come back...

I'm defo gonna cut 300 cals out too then jo as I thought 1800 for my height etc was ok...

I'm just hoping a metabolism booster/ appetite suppressant will help loosing it a bit quicker not only for my dress but for me poor shins too

dont like them.... been told they do naff all and even if they did, as soon as you stop taking them your metabolism is shot and will react to the food. You need to do proper diet and exercise properly. I know many have excuses that they cant lose weight and this may be true for SOME ppl with disability etc who cant move. However, a lot of ppl, like myself at times, are too lazy and make up excuses and resort to pills. Poeple who say theyve tried havent tried in 99% of cases as scientifically its not really possible unless there is underlying illness. Ppl should just eat less and move more. Never pills.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
    start weight 10st 1.5 lbs
    weight now 8st 4.5 lbs
total loss to date: 24.5 lbs now need to maintain!

Green tea is really good for loosing weight and it has other benefits as well and doesnt gie u dodgy tummy either. i work at well known health shop and the weight loss tablets only work if u do fair bit of exercise and they can give some people dodgy tummys. one woman swears by the chu yung tea she has lost alot of weight on it but like everything she will put it back on if she dont keep eating healthy and exercising x

well croc...you have another 7lb (half stone) to lose. i would say this is achievable in a month if you have done 8lb in 2 weeks. just be careful when you have lost the weight that you dont gain it again! can be difficult to maintain your weight which is what i am finding at the moment! also..when you weigh yourself if it is your time of the month you may find you put on weight like me which will think your not losing when you are xx
