I'm not used to wearing heels at all so am thinking about wearing heels for the ceremony and photos then changing into flats for the rest of the day and night. Would this affect the alterations to my dress too much? Say if it was a 3inch heel I got sized for? Would I end up tripping up once I'm in flats and dancing?

My dress shop mentioned it just yesterday actually, that the hem line would be wrong if I went from my 3 inch heels to nothing/flats. Iv ordered some Wedgy flip flops to change into in the evening

I'm afraid your dress will be too long once you change into flats. I'd suggest wearing flats all the time and just finding a pair you really love.

Thanks. A flip flop wedge sounds comfy! I would love to wear flats the whole day. I'm 5"5 and my only real concerns are that I would look better in a heel which seems to be the majority opinion, the dress would 'swamp' me (although I don't know how much difference a 3 inch heel would make to that!) and the height difference between me and my h2b in photos.. Any thoughts?
Me and my oh are the same height and I have heels (not massive) but ill still be taller than him. It'll just be the same as when we go out though which were kindof used to. I LOVE my shoes but I don't want to be taller and to be stuck to being in them all day as I thought it would be able to take them off later x

Well 3 inches doesnt seem alot but when it comes to length a tiny bit too long is going to cause a problem walking etc i would imagine? (unless the dress was short)
If u can put up with a wedge id go for that instead of flats that or dont do heels at all if u r more comfy in flats do that? My bridesmaid doesnt wear heels i said is fine she can have flat shoes.. its what u r most comfortable in
i do feel tho that heels make u carry yourself better. Unless walking in heels is awkward lol
sry im nt a huge help rly bt id go with 1 or the orher (or as mentioned wedges)

Just looking my phone id about 3 inch wide. My belt for dress is 3 inches wide. Thats quite alot to be tripping over :-(

Because I have unusually small feet for my height, I'm 5ft8ins with size 5 feet (statistically I should be a 7) I struggle wearing heels for long periods as I get really sore on the balls of my feet so I have a small heel, slightly higher than a kitten heel for my wedding shoes but plan on having a pair of flats to change into in the evening. I love dancing and want to be able to go all night if I can :D

I changed from heels to flip-flops, it got really annoying having to hold my dress up and tripping up on it. Love the idea of comfy wedges if that would work for you :)
I think its one of the main reasons brides get changed into something else for the evening

Mine was too long when I took off my shoes which was why I went with a mid heel so I'd be ok with them all day, I did rest slightly with them off being 13weeks pregnant at the time and was forever hunching my dress up which got annoying. So I'd say try and find one decent pair of comfortable shoes to last all day/night for your alterations purposes x

My heels came off straight after the ceremony. I just wore my comfy sandals under my dress for the rest of the day. Nobody saw them

I never wear heels either so I m having flats for the whole day... I am having some red Jimmy Choo dorothy shoes...keep looking there are so many beautiful flats out there that you may prefer and are just as beautiful :) xx

I don't want to be in heels all day either, I cannot walk in them hahaha. I'm not going to go for a huge heel to begin with but then think I may just change into comfy shoes with a slight heel/wedge for the evening

I hate heels, they make me walk like a toddler so I don't think i'll both. Good to hear i'm not the only one!

I am really tall so I very rarely wear heels but I fell in love with a pair so I am having them for the ceremony, and I am going to get some ivory or sparkly flats for after that so I'll be comfortable :)

i will change into flats for the evening but i will try them on with my dress first to see how it feels with walking around etc as my dress is very big and very poofy so might be a problem! xx
