Other than using aluminium pipes (far too expensive!) does anyone know of either a way to tie balloons into a large heart shape or a supplier who could make them for us in the newcastle upon tyne area?

OOoooo Janie its great to see your still on here :) My wife studied balloon art in with her florist course at college. The only way she can think of without using the pipes you have mentioned is make them like the pillars but to shape use wool of something just to hold them together maybe? Other than that there isn't really a way. We have just found a link here you can get one for £45 not sure where they are though.
I will put a link on your all of someone who does balloons in your area, they do the pillars but don't advertise the heart but have a picture using it lol, Might be worth contacting them.

Could you do it with chicken wire? I don't know how that is cost wise though.
Or you could just make a wire frame which would probably work out less expensive.
It was worth a go. You have to try it once dont you lol! :)

hi janie there is a shop over in southwick that i think does them the one near the roundabout opposite the pub on the corner otherwise the card shop in pallion does them the one closest to fruiters dunno how much they are tho think i may av a few more from our area on me facebook will av a look and let you know. x

thanks Jem, so lovley to help us out. We dont know if there IS another way of doing, just that the rods are over £14 each and the webpage we looked at says we need six! Dont know if I am looking up the right aluminium rods though lmao
