Salamander - I have shown him the cake and i am not deciding its too difficult for him to do HE said he wasnt sure if he could get the drape bit knowing how much i like things to be exactly as i want them !!

i have spoken to him today he says he'll have a smaller practice run to see how it goes then he'll decide if he can do it or not hes gonna try through the week when he has some spare time so fingers crossed :) lol !

Ahh thanks halloween ! im hopeless with things like that :)

Oh dear thats a shame about your niece's cake it is cute though :)

    xx

thats the trouble you get not using supports, we are having sponge cake, and a friend who was going to make it tried telling me i needed marzipan on it as well as the icing, & after having a chat with a cake maker she explained that would cause the cake to collapse as well as there's no need for them.

th dowlings are like little rods to give the extra support and the boards are to stop the cake sinking aswell

I would get it done by my friend. If he has time to practice it should be ok, but remember it will never be 'exactly' like the one in the picture, but could be a very very close match.
Just think of where you could spend the £360 you 've saved!
