Hi everyone, just new to the site :-) Getting married next june at a registry office and then on to the local tithe barn for reception and evening do. Doing a red, white, blue theme (great britain) and having an afternoon tea menu with vintage crockery. Any ideas for decorating the venue?? Any entertainment ideas for guests?? thanks siobhian xxx

that sounds amazing hun! put a blue table cloth at the bottom, then a red one at a different angle and then another white one on top
or blue underneath red and then a white table runner! you could do so much with this theme!!!!!

If done properly I think this could work really well and look fab, with a kind of modern/vintage look to it.

Welcome to the forum. The GB theme is a very good idea, so many bright and cheerful colours, lots of ways to mix and match.
Any room for giant games at the venue for guests to play? How about a GB quiz for tables as an ice-breaker and tie in with the GB theme?

Oooo I did this for a bride the other week and some of things we thought of were a country barn or a big stately house for the actual venue, vintage crockery, the crown, red white and blue, english roses as part of the bouquet and fish n chips amongst other things hehehe Bunting is a FAB idea and if you have it in the summer you could do croquet in the garden to keep everyone entertained!

You could have royal family wedding pictures around the place going back over the years or your tables could be named after individual members of the royal family?

Love this theme, good luck with it bet you're going to have loads of fun with it, I love the afternoon tea and vintage crockery idea, lovely. Have you seen the thread for pom poms, they are gorgeous and would amazing in red white and blue hung from the ceiling, search the discoussions for pom poms and have a look, you can seach for a web site on goo gle that gives you step by step instructions on how to make them, they are so easy. xx
