Wish I could just have a walk-in apt at our reg office - they're only open M-F 9.30-3.30 for apts! Anyhow...enough of that, I did my ranting yesterday! I was wondering if the 6-8 week rule still apllies if you're getting married abroad and then what happens when we get back to the UK - is our marriage just accepted or is there something else we need to do?
Vegas baby!

I know this is a VERY old thread but im looking on behalf of my sister
she lives in Scotland with her man and they both want to come home to Liverpool, England to marry... how would this work? would they need to give notice in Scotland OR in England OR both???? if they give notice in Scotland is it transferable to England? xxxx

They would give notice in scotland as far as I know as they do it in the area they reside you would book with the registras office in the area you are getting married in . then they pass on the details to the local office for you to give notice and once everything been passed pass it back to registra office who will be marrying you .
