Hi ladies, my wedding is next Friday (eeek!) and frantically trying to think of a gift for hubby to open on the morning. Was thinking an engraved pocket watch but don't think it's his 'thing'. I've written a nice card so far! Am at a complete blank! Any inspiration would be appreciated. I tried writing to his fav football team for a letter but they basically said no and I don't want to get clothes/trainers/aftershave as that's usually what he gets for birthdays/xmas!!!!

Does he have a favourite band or singer? I contacted my husband's favourite band to ask for a message from the lead singer, and had given up as I didn't hear anything, but on the wedding day I received an email from him wishing us both well.

Very last min! To be honest was hoping for a better response from his football club, I wrote to them in January and only had a response a few weeks ago. He's just so hard to buy for. Doesn't help his 40th birthday is Tuesday too so I've focused more on getting gifts for that as a priority.....and now I'm panicking! I was thinking the pocket watch with a little note saying something like "this is to remind you 1. Not to be late. 2. That time is precious and 3. Even when the hands have long since stopped turning I will still love you beyond measure". Is that naff though?

I got mine a survival kit, he brought the rope/string to the wedding and we tied a knot in it.
