I have my first first fitting tomorrow and know to take mt bra and shoes. I'm also taking my hoop as I said they may need to make it smaller as it literally falls to my ankles, and they said it may be cheaper to buy a new one from them rather than to make it fit me. (I originally got it at the same time as my dress from the outlet)

My question is should I take my veil and jewellery or save that for when the fittings are done? I have a cathedral length veil and haven't actually seen it with my dress properly as I designed it online myself. Had a quick try and got a picture on my planning thread but it was dark and had limited space in the spare room!

    What do you think? X

It might be good to see the whole thing together even if it is only your first fitting. I know if it was me I'd be far too excited not to want to see everything together, it will give you a better idea of what you will look like on the day x

I'd definitely take your veil so you can see it with the dress. At least then if you don't like it you still have time to sort something out x

I never bothered taking the veil for the fitting, only to my hair and makeup trial, it's up to you though, if you really want to see it with the dress then go for it x

I'd take it and if you don't need it, it's no loss. If you don't take and wish you had, you'd be disappointed x

I'd also ask the person doing the fitting whether they can steam the veil for you when they do the dress so that there's no creases on the wedding day.

I had 3 fittings April. I took my dress to them in May, and they had it for about a month

Thanks :) I have my next one on valentines day! After worrying it was too long, the veil was perfect! :) they are storing the veil for me too so said they would press it too. My spare wardrobe is very bare without my dress hanging in it lol x

Ill more than likely be going to work almost straight after!

The BMs will be starting their fittings at the same time too. Although when I got back and told them the date, 2 of them will have to reschedule. I didnt realise the one at Uni didnt get the same holidays so wont be back then and the other said shes not sure she'll be mobile enough as she's having an operation (think its a knee op!) My cousin will be fine to start hers on the same day, she's excited as she hasnt had her dress delivered yet.

I had a prefit in November and took my shoes, glasses and the sample bouquet that our flower lady put together for me. I wanted to see how it all went together
