    Hi ladies,

I've been thinking about my dress, it's going to be coming into the shop around March, as long as there are no problems with the order. I have noticed a lot of people saying they are having their first fitting around 2 months before their wedding, is this the norm?

Anyone who had their dress come into the shop before then, did you try the dress on when it came into the shop? As March will be around 5 months before my wedding, I would like to try it on before June if possible.

Also is anyone else going to try and have either a fitting or just go and try their dress on, on the same day as their hair trial, to see how they both go together?

My dress cane in around a year before wedding, and went in and tried it on asap after it arrived to make sure i was happy with it, then paid remainder of what was owed on it, It's normaly around 8 weeks before that you have your first fitting. As far as I'm aware

My dress should come in around 17th April. I need to take it away and take it back for alterations approx 6-8 weeks before the wedding. I will take the dress back and leave it with them. I will try the dress on the day I pick it up to make sure there is nothing wrong with it and that it fits properly,

Im not planning on going the same day as hair/make up trials but know a few people that have done so my dress hsop allows you to do that as long as its booked in advance.

My dress has been in for a few months but the shop wouldn't let me see it! Said it was too soon before my wedding.(I did a post about it).

After arguing with them and threatening with all sorts (and a very well worded email put together by Carla/lala mod bunni)
They agreed to let me try it on...but only on a weekday which I've not managed to do yet due to work.

I'm having a hair and makeup trial in March so will try the dress that afternoon.

I'm itching to see my dress in my size, but it's working out quite well as I now have my shoes/undies/jewellery so can really get an idea of how I'll look on the day

My first fitting was ten weeks before. They can't do it too early in case you're figure changes, as a lot of brides lose weight even if they don't plan to. I had tried it prior to that, as it was the shop sample, so I tried it when I first went looking.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

My shop says 8 weeks before too. Although I am allowed to try the sample on again if it's quiet or if I book, so I have booked a Friday afternoon appointment after my hair and make up trial on the 30th Jan :)

Mine comes in May, think first fitting is July, they said I welcome to go in anytime I like even if just for for a chat and I welcome to try it on however many times I like between now and then, im going to pop in next month and try the sample dress on again .. im very lucky they are super nice and always have Prosecco on Ice for brides to be !! ha... I cant believe Leasa that they said that to you ! Find it really odd. At end of day its your dress..and your the customer, shocked at why they would say no, doesn't make for happy brides .. I would definitely make a complaint to Shop Owner..

I have had my dress at home for the past year. We get married this March 20th. My first fitting is 7th February (the shop told me the dates I needed to go in and worked as close to those as possible.) I'm considering getting my hair trial done the morning of but going to ask my hairdresser what she thinks. Think some shops don't like you to try a dress on too often as more chance of it getting marks on it or it even losing the magic feel when you put it on.

Our wedding is 4th April. Mine was bought and lived at home since march so I have to take mine to the shop, but they said as im probably not going to change my weight (they were certainly right, looked the same since I was a teenager) they said I could come after Christmas if I wanted to, otherwise start of feb. so I have my first fitting Saturday!
