Ive found some carnival style tickets which say "Admits One" on which we thought we could include with the invites as a drink token, so each person gets one drink from the bar 'on us'. Our 'theme' is music/movies and the tickets come in our colour scheme (pink/orange) so thought they might tie in well. Does this sound ok or a bit naff? We were going to have a limited bar tab but then didnt want particular people taking the p*** and using it as a free for all while some people might not get a look in (OHs mates can drink alot FAST!). Figured this way everyone has a chance to have at least one drink of choice. Drinks thereafter would have to be paid individually. Yay or nay?

I think the tickets are a good idea, were probably do the same but I would suggest putting them on the table. I think with the invitations they will get lost or people will forget to bring them on the day, whereas if they are on the table with their place card, favour, etc there to hand.

Yeh, but to cut costs slightly we're only having 3 bottles per table of 8-10 and a glass of fizz for the toast.

I think it's a great idea but then I also think the 3 bottles of wine per table is more than enough too...especially as we're only giving one glass of wine per guest as well as the arrival drink and toast drink ... 3 bottles per table would end up with ppl being rowdy too early for my liking x

Thanks ladies - feeling better about this now

Kelbel - I was debating the wine on tables, as I dont drink myself I have no idea how many glasses this provides everyone, but want to keep it limited so my family dont get drunk too soon and end up creating a show. May stick to two bottles per table if we're having the drinks tokens, as they will also have the toast drink on top.

we were thinking about doing this or everyone gets one of our weddings signature cocktails like the Sonic Screwdriver, when we mentioned it to OHs mother she was like oh no your can't do that as some people will want more. and luckly OH said well tough, they get one drink each, If someone does not want one, they can give there token to someone else.
that shut her up. Day guests will also get a welcome drink and wine with meal.
