Hi. I picked my dress up about 3 weeks ago from the wedding shop and I got it to my mother In laws and I opened the front of the bag and noticed there was some beads missing on the front of the dress. I rang the shop back up and they were lovely, they said bring it back and we'll sort it. So finally got a chance to take it back last week and I've just had a phone call today to say it has to be scrapped as the beading on the front is a different colour to the beading on the back. I asked if it was noticeable and they said its really bad. They've had to re order the dress and hope it will be here in time. They said if not they'll hand pick all the beading off the dress I have and re do it all. Which would probs take days. The girls in the shop are lovely and I know they will do all they can but I'm getting a bit scared now!

5 weeks on Saturday! She said it should come the week before! I asked about alterations and she said even I she has to stay up through the night to do it she will.

How awful, not what you need so close to the wedding. It's good they're being so accommodating, but I hope the factory will compensate them for the extra work.

There lovely at the shop. To be honest I didn't even notice the difference in the colour it was them that pointed it out and said they wouldn't let me walk down the aisle with it like that. And I said to my h2b I didn't notice it so they could have easily not mentioned anything but there going above and beyond. It took 11 weeks for it to come back when it was ordered but they're putting it through quick. Well I hope!

Hope it gets sorted for you in time. Sounds like the ladies at the shop are brilliant so I don't think I'd worry too much (although it's a brides prerogative). I've never heard of any shop assistants that dedicated :)

I know the wedding shop said the dress wouldn't be back until the week before the wedding but I was thinking of ringing the shop just to see if they know anything. I've put it off for the last few days. But I'm definitely going to ring tomorrow. I'll let you's know straight away. Had an awful dream a few nights ago that I didn't get it in time and I ended up with the same SUIT as my h2b!!!!! Needless to say I am now very nervous!!

No update!! Rang the shop and they just said its due in the week before the wedding and they'll ring me straight away. But they have really reassured me again. Have 100% trust in them. Think I just needed to hear it again that everything will be ok.

Wish I was writing on here that my dress is sorted but it's not.
Went to try my new dress on today and it's huge! It's that big the waist band is actually on my hips! Iim a size 18 and I think they've sent a size 22! cried so much when I came out of the shop! The lady in the shop said she could alter it but it would costs an extra £50 but she couldn't move the band! Considering the dress cost £800 + £50 for alterations already. I said it's not my fault though she said it is because you've lost weight. I explained I've lost 4lbs since I last seen her which isn't going to make that much of a difference. When I got home and pulled myself together I rang her and said I would just wear my original dress which she then explained had been sent back to the designer. She had only showed me the original dress 40 mins before I rang her. I said I can't wear that other one and I told her after looking at the pics off in the original i hate the new one.
She rang me back an hour later to explain they've found my original one and they must have sent a different one back! And there going to take the full band off the new one and put it on the old one. I'm back there on Monday to try it on so fingers crossed it fits ok. Here's a pic of my original that I love.

The lady's rang and asked me to go on Friday at 10. She's pinned the new band on the original dress to make sure it's in the right place. Then she's going to see it all on at the weekend. Such a stress.
Thanks sammi- it's the only dress I fell in love with. And the waistband was in just the right place to keep my big hips hidding. My mams coming with me on Friday. Took my friend and sister today and my friend was like yeah it's lovely and my sister agreed until we got home. She was like it didn't flatter u at all. Whereas my mam will tell me there and then exactly what she thinks. And won't let me leave until it's sorted. 3 more sleeps to go. I can't wait.

Wow it really is a roller coaster isn't it. I can't believe they didn't remeasure you before they ordered the replacement. All brides lose some weight in the run-up, even if they try not to. I wouldn't think 4lb would make that much difference either, some people can fluctuate that much without noticing. Well done for sticking to your guns; it wasn't you that wanted the dress replaced in the first place.

Thanks everyone. It's the only dress I found that flatters me. Hides those big hips but as soon as I tried the new one on it just sat on my hips and made me look bigger. I'm normally such a walk over and just agree to anything but I'm standing my ground on this one. The lady in the shop had the cheek to say because it's too big u shud just eat loads over the next week and then it won't need taking in! 4 lbs isn't much at all. I will let you's know on Friday morning how it went. It's so nice to have you's to talk too. I text my moh when I got out the shop and I was really upset and she txt back saying it will be fine your getting stressed over nothing.

No 4lb is not a lot at all and shouldn't change the entire dress! You have paid for the dress and for alterations, it should be perfect!!
