Hopefully going to look for a dress the end of this month but would like to take my 3 bridesmaid and my mum but my partner also wants his mum involved which will be nice for 5 other people's opinions but I feel like when I try and get us to all go together it's such a big deal about getting MY dress and don't want them to think that I want attention for it all cos I really don't I just want opinions. Who did everyone else take with them

thays what I wanted as my sister is my MOH too and my best friend but then felt bad about my other bridesmaid not being involved but then my partner said about his mum too. Just feel that taking 5 people with me is too much fuss

Why does FMIL have to be involved? My personal view is that unless you're particularly close she should wait until the big day to see the dress, she is grooms side after all.

I'm only taking my mum as I want it to be a really special and intimate experience :) I'm the only daughter and child my mum has so she's not going to experience this again. I thought about inviting my 4 bridesmaids along but I think it would take too much away from my mum and the experience my mum and I would have together :)

I have thought about asking my FMIL to come to one of fittings after I have chosen the dress - purely because I am close to her and she doesn't have a daughter, so again, it's not something she's going to experience and I'd like to involve her xx

My mum was the only person with me when I got my dress but when we went shopping the first time I took her and my sister (BM), I just wanted it to be something that we experienced together. I would of taken my MOH but she was busy so couldn't make it, I am not close at all to MIL so I wouldn't have asked her, OH knows this so didn't even mention it lol.

Like others have said it may be too much having so many people there with you, maybe take just a few at first then when you find your dress take the others to show them :) x

Start off small and you can show other others later, it's too overwhelming when you first start looking

I went with my wedding planner purely as she knew the shop owner and I had no intention of finding a dress.

I did though and I'm kind of glad because even though my mum, MOH & FMIL have seen a photo, it will be a surprise to see it completely on x

So far I've taken my mum, sister and very close friend who is like a second mum. My first one was with just my mum and sister. I'm taking my bridesmaids back to one shop that I found a really nice dress in, to get them trying on dresses and may well try on the one I liked to get a few more opinions. I don't plan on getting h2b's mum involved - I'm quite traditional I suppose and want to keep it strictly between bridesmaids, mum and '2nd mum' as I like the idea of it all being a surprise!! I wouldn't take loads of people all at once though - dress trying is surprisingly tiring I've found and it might get a bit overwhelming!!

When I went dress shopping for my dress I took my sister (My only BM) I asked my mum if she wanted to go but she said she would rather wait until I narrowed it down but I found my dress on the first day shopping.

My sister wend shopping 3 weekends and the first weekend she took me and her other BM and her other 2 best friends. Too Many opinions and my sister was overwhelmed by it all. The 2nd and 3rd weeks it was just me and her other BM and she said she felt so much better as too many opinions were driving her crazy.

Once she had decided on her wedding dress (From the 2nd week) she took me and her other BM and both mothers only because she is extremely close to her FMIL but it wasn't expected of her she decided for herself to ask her to go.

My sister only took me. Then took my mum and I when she had found the one and just wanted to show her before ordering. Think my mum was upset at not being included from the start. The other bridesmaid didn't come but she lives abroad.

It is easier with a smaller group.

When I went to try my dress on when it came in I took my MOH and my girls, plus my MOH's daughter came as well. I had already chosen my dress though.

At the end of the day, no matter on their opinions and what they say, it is your dress, you have the last say in it, not them!

I took my mum and 3 bridesmaids. I did consider asking his mum to come too to be sure that she felt involved but decided not to but I have shown her pictures of my dress and all other things for the wedding. Just waiting for the blow up when his dad hears I have hired him a kilt lol

For me..it was my mom and my sister and that's it. I didn't want to hear a million opinions or I knew I would find it so much harder.

For me it was my 3 BMs and my FMIL. However since then I changed my mind about the dress I chose first and they then admitted they weren't as happy with it as they said on the day. So when I went to get actual dress I went alone until I narrowed down my choices then took 1 bridesmaid and sent the others pictures.
