    hey lovely ladies :)
i really want chair covers :) i think they give tha summin extra to a venue when you walk in :) however... H2B said - wots the point? waste of money and makes the place look like a laundry room covered in sheets!! lol
now i know it is an extra expense, but do u think i should just go for it? there is a pic of my venue wid the chairs as they are in my pics - wot do you think? would you just ignore H2B on this one and go for what you want?

i have to have covers on my chairs because they are vile ( blue and gold) and are so far from my colours they will stick out like a sore thumb.

you can get the covers quite cheaply on the bay of e hunni or do you have to have ones supplyed by the venue?
how much are they charging you ?

    What is your colour scheme?

Personally I think the chairs look alright and they match the room. Even if you covered them up and put something else over them you can't change the walls and curtains etc. Its entirely up to you if you have them but I don't think they will make or break your overall look.

i think they look ok without if they arent in your budget. Its the opposite with us, im happy with our chairs how they are, but h2b wants the covers, our venue is charging us £3.50 per cover, and £1.50 per sash!

I decided to get our wedding chairs covered to make it look a bit more special, £160 for 50 chairs I think, only got 34 for the meal but having 50 covered as it worked out cheaper. Go figure! So some chairs will just be sort of scattered about I think! The chairs were red and our theme is emerald green so definitely needed to cover them!!! The awful thing I discovered though this morning is ........ my friend sent me photos of her friends wedding reception there yesterday and I didnt realise the carpet in the main area is awful! Old ladies pattern and quite red! Oh dear. Luckily the main eating area is in a lovely conservatory with laminate flooring!!!! Hopefully avoid photos in the old lady area!!

My hubby to be doesn't see the point either and since he's paying for it, I don't have much choice. They are expensive though which is the main reason we're not having them. I do agree that it gives the venue an extra something. :)

When me and h2b were first talking about chair covers he was the one that said no we dont need them.

We then saw the chairs with and without covers and he is the one saying we need them now!

Has your h2b seen them? He may change his mind if he did xx

I came to an agreement with my co-ordinator while booking. I knew there was an open day coming up and there's usually a discount on total price if you book on that day. I really didnt want to wait but just asked outright if I booked today would they include chair covers and sashes. She was happy to do that thankfully and I felt like I got something too x

Have you tried making a deal with the caterers? Some do chair covers as well- my dad managed to get our caterers to do our chair covers for something daft like £2.50 a chair (there's no collection fee because they're coming anyway).

But it all depends on what the chairs look like. Ours are gorgeous (Camelot chairs) so I would have been happy without but my parents insisted. Plus we managed to find two tone shot organza in red/purple (our colour scheme) so it was kismet I guess.

i have found a lady tha does them quite cheap (i think its cheap) she charges £2.50 per cover and sash (organza) or £2.99 per cover and sash (satin) :) xxx

My venue have just started to do them so I'm going to be cheeky and ask them if they will do it as part of our package as they didn't offer it when we first booked and I am not paying their prices now. I'm happy for the chairs not to be covered as they match the room and don't clash with our colours. I can't see anyone walking in and going OMG you should have got chair covers haha. If I can get them for free bonus, if not no harm done.

I'm having them but I hate them and think they look like dovets! But h2b wants them and the chairs at the venue are hideous... But we either gave to have venue own covers at £4 each or Lycra ones for 100 plus to urns for flowers for £300. As normal chair covers don't fit venues chairs!! They've fine that on purpose ... But were not having sashes as I really don't like them

I've been looking at photos of my venue again and as long as the chairs don't clash with your colour scheme, or look naff, then there's nothing wrong with going without. I have wobbles every now and again about whether to have chair covers but we really don't need them!

Jane that pictures are gorgeous with all the pastel colours. I so wish I was getting married in spring and could have colours like that!! too late, have picked purple and silver!!

i would defo say chair covers and sashes add to the "wedding" feel of the day. if I walked into a wedding and there wasnt any, that would probably be the first thing i would say to myself "oh, they didnt bother with chair covers". its a must for me.

We are having chair covers because it would ruin our colour scheme if we didn't, its just a finishing touch for us.
Our venue and chairs would be nice wnough with out them but for us it is the icing on the cake just last thing that ties everything together.

We were having chair covers - was 62.50 for 50 chairs. Absolute bargain we thought

unfortunately the company has gone bankrupt so now have no chair covers and not going to order others. at £1.20 a chair I could justify it but not at 3.50 a chair or whatever price some are charging.

I agree it can make the room look beautiful but the shine has gone on it for us now.
