I have found my dream dress! The bridal shop has phoned me to say that it is being discontinued in April this year. Does this mean that I should rush to buy it or should I wait because there will be some sort of sale somewhere?! Help!

If it's being discontinued can't you ask if you can buy the dress you tried on,at a cheaper price? Then sort out any alterations if needed... Reason I'm saying is that they will sell that dress off in April anyway,so why not just be a bit cheeky now?x

I'd ask to buy the shop sample for a discount if all it needs is a dry clean.

Ask the shop if you can have the sample if cost is something that is worrying you. Offer to pay a deposit on the sample gown so they won't sell it to anyone else xx

Mine was being discontinued the month I went in!! I bought their sample dress for half the price it would normally have been. It cannot hurt to ask and see what price they offer you :)
I had the same conversation with my bridal shop. I had chosen my dress, just waiting to lost a few pounds before ordering, and then they rang to say it was being discontinued. I was gutted! I asked them outright if they would sell me the sample, and they agreed. Maggie Sottero dress down from £1200 to £550. Bargain!

I bought the shop sample as it was my size , i am just going to get any alterations done if i need them as i would have kicked myself if i hadnt been able to get it if i had left it

If it really is the one I would buy now as you'll regret it if you don't and there is no guarantee that there will be a sale. As long as you pay the deposit now they will have to honor it and order you in a brand new one and you'll be able to get alterations as normal :) I was told that mine had been discontinued and was gutted but it turned out the woman had got the dress mixed up and I still got mine. Personally I wouldnt buy the display gown as no matter how well it gets washed it wont look the same as the brand new one. Also any detail like sequences etc tend to become loose on the display one. xx

if you love it that much then buy it, you can order it up until the end of April, if not then consider buying the sample if it is the correct size and isn't damaged, if it is damaged you want it repairing and cleaning within the cost of the dress, make sure you make that clear when you discuss purchasing the sample

Wouldn't hurt to ask about sample dress x

A lot of discontinued dresses get sold on in sales (unless they are put back) as they have to move the dress to make room for more/new dresses. No harm what so ever in asking, if we dont ask, we dont get :) x
