Hey everyone as it's second time round for both of us we were thinking of less traditional . We were thinking of cupcakes and or one tier instead of traditional tier wedding cake . Has any one else done this and what's the verdict ??

I am doing it. The cupcakes will be our desert, too. I only wanted the one tier, so we can cut the cake :)
There are pictures in my album of how I want mine to look like. My Grandma is making it all for us. I only need to get the stand, which looks pretty cheap on the bay of e.

It's very popular now, loads of people do it.

Personally I want the tiers but its all down to personal choice. I can see how cupcakes are easier and they can look lovely

I'm having 4/5 tiers, i have thought about cupcakes and they are so popular now but i guess as my mum is a cake maker and decorator that i have so many ideas going on in my head that i just want some big amazing cake!!

There's less left over with cupcakes too and easier to take home after but i still prefer traditional tiered cakes.

Yeah it's saving me money and she also gets to go nuts and create something crazy and wonderful which i know she is excited to do!
1 or 2 tiers might be dummies anyway as i dont need 4/5 different cakes but i'm sure if they are all cake then i will find good homes for the remaining portions haha!

What about a cheesecake wedding cake? or actual big round cheese? Google them (if you like that sorta thing).
I've seen a lot of profiterole wedding cakes recently too and the naked cakes look good also, so there's some ideas that are different?

I am having bith, but cant decide on having a tower of cupcakes with a cutting cake at the side, or the top layer on the stand be a cutting cake!!!
