We've been looking into entertainment, and I was wondering what people think as it seems like entertainment - DJs/singers don't tend to post their quotes online much for comparison.

We have had a quote for a DJ from 7 - 12 with a singer/acoustic performer for 2 hour long sets in the middle of that and it's £750. Does that sound reasonable to have both?

that sounds like a lot to me i got quoted £850 but that was for an hour acoustic set and full night dj from 7-12 plus acoustic set during ceremony walking down aisle signing register etc then music for the wedding breakfast plus uplighters at night too i would have a look around and speak to a few companies first xx

that seems quite reasonable actually for a dj and an acoustic singer. we were quoted for a singer for 2 hours £600 so if you are getting a DJ swell thats not too bad. but quotes do differ depending on where you are in the country

I think that sounds reasonable. Our DJ is £475ish from 7.30-12 and it seems reasonable that a singer would cost a further £300 or so. Seems in line with all the 'entertainment' quotes we have had. The area you live or are getting married in will also affect quotes as some places are generally more pricey than others! x

Our DJ is £225 from 6.30 - 12 and the singer we are looking at is £150 for 2 hours. I think we struck lucky with ours DJ and the singer is a family friend. The price you have been quoted is what we were getting from most people.

I'm looking for a band and have been using Alive netw0rk to search. They have a huge list of different acts/singers and include price estimates so could be a place to look to see if there are any competitive quotes. The girl called me today to check I'd got my detailed quotes and if there was anything else she could help with. X

Thanks Kirsty, I think I'll take a look.

I like the guys as you basically get a choice of DJ and singer combo depending on who you like but I dunno, £750 sounded reasonable but when you think about how long it takes to earn £750 you think "Hmmm..." xx

    It sounds reasonable.
I was quoted £2800 for a greek band and dj from 6-midnight.

    Told them where to go...

My dj is playing 4 to midnight for £600

They use $pot1fy so can give us a mix of greek, rock and floor fillers.

    £2,800?? Gordon Bennett...

I didn't reply to the DJ & singer and woke up to another email saying if I can confirm the date is a Sunday, they'll do it for £650!

Haven't picked out venue yet so can't go back to him but I'm happy with that! Lol. x

I think that seems a bit expensive we are having a 5 piece live band followed by a dj for £1000

Be careful with al1ve netw0rk, what they have on the site isn't always who turns up.

Oh really? I haven't booked anything yet but I would have thought you get a contract with who is booked etc.

£2800!! I suppose a greek band is a bit specialist but thats an awful lot of money. X

They are regulars at the venue and have a fab reputation so we are pleased with that.... I was expecting about £750
