I booked our venue stylists in August and paid £50 deposit. I haven't spoken to them since August as didn't need too but dropped them an email this morning and its bouncing, i phoned the number and its out of use and their website is down too :o(
I phoned my wedding insurance company to see where i stand and i am covered so not an issue but only if the company has gone into liquidation or they fail to deliver on the day - i cant wait until the day to see if they turn up and equally not sure how to see if they have gone into liqudation?!
Luckily i have only paid £50 desposit and can get it back from insurance (minus £25 excess) but now im worried and dont know what to do next?
Any suggestions please as im upset now !! xx

If you go onto companies house web site and put in their trading name it will tell you their current status. Panic not theres still time to rearrange - annoying but better now than in 9 months xxx

If they are a co registered in England and Wales they have to be on companies house. Put their details on my wall and I will do some digging for you xx

Thanks Madison for the link - its my fault for thinking i was getting a good deal, what a Muppet i feel now :o( They are not on FB or twitter and i have left voicemails on any number i can find and emails.... i dont care about the £50 deposit as insurance will pay that but its treating people badly and letting them down.... i do i make sure they dont do this to anyone else?!

So a little update on this company.... trading standards have investigated but hit a brick wall. The company looks like it wasn't registered and sets up for a year, rips off brides then shuts up shop and moves on so then starts again. they have a mis-match of addresses and phone numbers they use and no one is answering anything.They are linked to numerous chair companies/decorations companies nationally and apparently a common issue as people deal with internet based companies and never actually meet anyone. On the internet we found people moaning about them as also lost money but unless people report companies to trading standards it is hard to bring evidence against them as not enough people. So ladies please be careful, apparently should never pay a bank transfer to a company just using they account number and sort code as cant be tracked very well and if it looks to good to be true then it probably is !!! xxx
