    Hello me again. Iv had a problem with comfort eating for a while now my partner works in Ireland so I only see.him for a few days every 2 weeks. I have 2 children I have family close who all work full time though and I don't have any friends. I get so depressed in the evenings on my own and because I'm bored I start.to eat. I just can't break the habit I know I have a slight depression but I usually knock my self out of it. Have any of you got any tips or advice I'm meant to be losing weight not putting it on I just don't have any will power. I can't get a babysitter so I can't go to slimmers world or anything like that. So advice would be great guys thank you ! Xxxxxxxxxxx

    When you want to eat.. chew gum.. or suck a mint.. or eat a carrot stick.. or fruit.. or put the hoover round.. or send your fella a test.. anything to distract yourself..

    I need to practise what I preach though lol!

    Just eat fruit or something low fat, jelly is good! Something sweet but it's really low calorie.

    i agree with mrs walker........ i'm at home at the moment going back to work next week :( and it is quite easy to comfort eat when you are bored, so what i have been doing is finding something to occupy my time or snack on celery with peanut butter or low fat cream cheese or have a piece of fruit.......hope this helps

    its hard and my h2b is here so i can only imagine how hard it is for u i must eat about 5 bars of choc a night :-( ooops x
    my only suggestion apart from super gluling u mouth shut which isnt a very good idea is u burn it all off when he is home ;-) x
    have u got a wii? if u have try that or i sometimes purposley dont buy any crap in so i know when kids are in bed im stuffed cause i cant go get any xx

    If you have to nibble choose high protein low fat foods such as a little chicken or ham and cut up some carrot and celery sticks etc so they are at hand in the fridge. Carbs are the devils work! ha ha. Make sure you drink plenty water which will not only help your skin but also your body often confuses hunger with thirst and the water fills you up. I am a dreadful comfort eater and this goes into overdrive with my cycle but I have just lost 2 stone so if I can do it anyone can...literally as I cannot exercise at all! Oh and dont forget to come on here and distract yourself that way too! Good luck x

    Go to the library and get yourself a book called overcoming binge eating by Dr.Christopher G. Fariburn. Its a book that will help you to understand your why you comfort eat and how to overcome it. Very handy indeed. I've suffered from comfort eating for many years which stemmed from my mother always telling me I wasn't worthy of having nice foods. Its been a big step in the right direction for me to over come this.

    Anyway that has peanut butter is just horrible I cant stand the stuff personally

    tell me about it ive been in a leg cast for 3 weeks now and as ive not been able to do much ive just been eating junk food. doesnt help when htb works shifts and isnt around every evening. heres what ive tried doing replaced my junk food in the house with the diet version of my fave treats. if you like fruit then just eat as much of it as you want i hate fruit so doesnt work for me. i also drink loads of tea so i everytime i get up to snack i bring back a cup of tea. x

    buy more fruit so when you want to pick you eat that instead. also stop buying the stuff that you know is bad for you like chocolate or crisps. i never have it at home and it doesnt bother me but my mum always has stuff like that so when i go it is the first thing i do!
