I'm a bit confused as to how to go about dressing the venue.

I was pricing up chair covers and table runners for the day but we are only having a small day so the price was good but then I started thinking do I need to hire chair covers for the night time as well so that all the chair look the same. I'm having around 25 on the day and 100 on the night. 25 with and 75 without would look daft.

    What are you doing?
Just the day and take them off at night or get exta for the night aswell?
    Thanks
    X

I saw the chairs covered when we went for a viewing and thought they looked better than without.

I think if you're doing some for the day and leaving them on, you should probably hire covers for the rest of the chairs for when they're added later in the day xxx

We hired ours for the reception, but not for the ceremony. It seemed pointless forking out £160 for fifty off chair covers when they're only going to have 30 minutes use.

I'd just have them for the day - by the time the evening comes around, it's dark, disco lights or whatever - I don't think it will notice.
Our venue said they rarely add chairs for the evening, keeps people up dancing and mingling.. but with 25/100 I think you may need another 25 or so x

So many weddings I've been to including mine and my sister's don't bother with extra covers for the evening. Just get ones for the day. No one will pay a blind bit of notice in the evening when they've all had a bit to drink and it's dark xxx

What about just having sashes and not chair covers? Then it's a lot cheaper xx

We had chair covers for the reception but not the ceremony as like clive we thought it was stupid to fork out so much for 30 minutes - our venue did bring in more chairs for the evening but once the top table chairs had been moved and the others had been mingled in - like the others said it is dark so I don't think you can tell as much! Speak to your venue and see what they recommend but personally I wouldn't bother adding extras for the evening - who would set them up? and where would they be stored till the evening? xx

I don't think she's referring to the ceremony when she says 'day', i think she means for the wedding breakfast up til the evening reception. I may be wrong though xxx

I wouldn't get extras for the evening do, imho I don't think you'll notice if they're there or not by that point in the day

No mrsmoran2b you are spot on. Wedding breakfast then evening reception. Day and night.
Kellyb81 they would be set up in the morning same as the wedding breakfast ones but in the evening reception room. Having 2 different rooms. 1 small and 1 big.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll save my self the money I think. X
